In GW2, if you tag a mob do you get full loot? Even if you take one swing at it? If so it isn't like WildStar because in WildStar you get loot based on contribution. I could be hearing it wrong, but here is where they say it:

GW2 is contribution based with no tagging. You cant just tag a mob and run away, rewards are based on thresholds.

Damn i always had the Stalker somewhere floating around in my Head when it came to choosing a Class, but after the Devspeak it really starts competing with Spellslinger. ^^

Why can't Chua be Stalkers? The things they would do with these Nanites.... BOOOMMMM ^^

So it's either Mechari Stalker or Chua Spellslinger. I need a Beta Key to decide. Like NOW!!!!

In WoW(which is like the only MMO I've really gotten into) grouping up severely reduce the xp you get from mobs and make some quests very tedious to do(find x amount of y mostly).
Do we have any information on how they handle this? Will we get 50% xp if we are 2 players in a group or will it be more/less? Will quest experience be halved as well, say if you have to kill 10 Pumera if you are alone as each Pumera gives 10% of the quest, do you need to kill 20 if you are in a group of 2? 50 if you are 5?
All member of the group will get the same amount of Exp to handle different specialisations equal. XP distribution in a group is based on the amount of damage the group does to a target, and is shared among all members of the group. Your class and spec do not matter. If there is a bonus of Kills I don't know, but I think the quest progression is the same for all!

Uhh...that might be the theoretical/intended way it works. I've heard there's some issues and it doesn't work that way. I'm sure it will get 'fixed' before release though.

You moved the convo to Gw2 economy being a bit fail because of it being global but I was pointing out the two aspects that I think make it meh. I pointed out that you need a gear decay system in a horizontal progression / truncated power curve like in firefall. At which point you thought I was talking about the gold sink durability rather than the item sink kind.
    ah, gotcha^^
    edit: Back to my laptop.
This started out more by using WoW as an example of what they COULD do with their server tech. Not what they SHOULD do. Wildstar doesn't have the same problems as WoW would with server and character name identity. The phasing stuff is really a non issue and so the question became about economies. I disagreed with using GW2 as an example because they have a demand problem because of the issues I outlined like no gear decay or specialization.
i still think the extreme economic competition isn't good for the market of mmos and that it is at least a major part of the problem in gw2, but i agree that having only a handful servers (or even just a single one) would overall be beneficial for future mmos, provided they are designed with that in mind. but you should also keep in mind that mmo development takes many years, so the ones that are coming out now were most likely started way before the required tech was available.

my guess is that while nanites are great for a variety of things, they are not generally designed to cause loud explosions.

I would guess that Chua would prefer to be classes that are a little more... is "explodey" a word?

Perhaps. But imagine a chua trying to wield stalker claws. They'd clip through its big head.

    They aren't melee weapons. xD

Point is that a chua won't do jack or shit to you in melee. They're all about their tools. Stalkers rely at least on some swinging prowess with he claws. The tech suit's about the tricks, the claws are about strength.

Chua are a physically weak race, with overpowering strength mentally and mechanically. Warriors and stalkers, the two melee classes, do not suit them.

i would imagine that chua cant be stalkers simply because of the tactical advantage.

Stealth is not 100%. If you are paying attention, you can see through the trickery. This advantage would be magnified by the smallest race.

I am imagining a Chua in a battle mech frame with claws now.

See THAT would be really awesome and totally acceptable. After all, the mechari can be stalkers.

Actually, why haven't the chua done that already?!
