    PSU info

    Hello

    i just bought this pc :

    i5 2500k ( planning on overclocking it . )
    gtx 560 ti hawk 950 mhz
    4 gb gskill 1600 1.5v cl9
    aus p8p67 rev3


    i have 2 psu here at home :

    Corsair vx550w
    and corsair cx600w builder series rev2.0

    which one do you guys think is better ?
    as far i as i remember the 550w should be.

    Ye, the VX550 is probably better if those both are about same age.

    They're about the same power... though the 550w does have 1 more amp on the 12v rail (41 instead of 40)... shouldn't make much of a difference though lol.. just use whichever is newer.

    Yes but CX is entry level and VX is not. I haven't disassembled them but I'm guessing the VX has a higher build quality.

    VX is low noise version meant for HTPCs, so definitely an improvement over CX.

    Yup just use whichever is newer they are very similar. (I guess its the CX because the VX is a discontinued model)

    CX is cheap-ass model, VX is low noise HTPC model. In theory VX should be notably better.

    they are both new one is coming back from rma ( replaced )
    and the other one is brand new ( bought it for another rig )

    Actually if it's a discontinued model and you're getting one back as an RMA, it "might" be new. It could also be repaired or refurbished. Depends if they still have any in stock.
