    And it's wrong because...?

I'd choose love over hate anytime.

I am not saying it's wrong i am all for it and i totally agree with it. All i am saying is that i have never witnessed or experienced so many people that openly agree to it in my lifetime, and that seems strange to say that lol.

And there is actually people in the world who disaggree with people who try and promote this idea

I think people for love and happiness. We just notice it more now because there's more ways spread your opinions in today's society. (internet, television, etc..)

    Here is another example

the UK riots in the house of parliment politicians was hateing so much saying people needed to have everything taken away from them and severe jail sentences and the same on the internet.

Now a few days later i hear this awesome speech from the acrhbishop of canterberry, i mean i am an atheist but i totally agree with him fast forward to 12.40.30 http://www.parliamentlive.tv/Main/Pl...meetingId=8944

I'd prefer hate & sadness personally.

    I think it's a mixture of things.

First, as angael pointed out there's a lot more exposure to things. People think the world's going to end because now they hear about every conflict in the world rather than just the ones that directly affect them. At the same time you can also glean from the mass of information a lot of people chanting about just being a good person. We're all remarkably good at filtering for what we're looking for so if you're primed to remember all the situations where people discuss love and happiness you're more likely to be able to come up with a lot of examples for it.

Another thing that has happened to some extent is those beliefs have become somewhat unchained from religion. You never had to go far to listen to people discuss how life should be lived (in fact they often came to you). So now you see a much stripped down version, which for better or worse has disconnected the belief system from its moral tenants.

Humans are known to exaggerate. And music can make you feel emotions, it's nothing new. This has happened for thousands of years.

Everybody always thinks they're in such an exciting time, or everything is changing etc. Even when we were in the dark ages people probably got excited when a new priest came to town or something, like a new era. Of course now things are slightly more dramatic than that because of the internet and globalization. Especially since the internet is full of idealistic young people.

Basically it's nothing new. It's the same as when someone says "wow, so many things have happened this year, maybe the end of the world is coming?". People believe what they want to believe, even if there's no actual pattern there. A short memory also helps.

Your love and happiness might make others feel jealous and miserable, how does that make you feel?!
Actually something worth thinking about. I don't see how anyone would disagree that it's great when they're
the ones who are happy and are in love/loved.

As bitter and jaded I can seem sometimes, I do believe we're moving foward. I believe in a brighter future for humankind, with less prejudice and hate, and more love and happiness.

    I can't say I've noticed it.
In fact the riots in the UK and the recent Norway incident have definitely not given me feel good vibes.

Pretty much the same, I know we'll eventually get there, someday, I just won't live the 100s or 1000s of required years.

It feels like many aspects of love have been forgotten to say the least & left behind. This world does not run on love.. It never will. The 60's are gone. This is all about porn, money, intoxication, facebook. Welcome to 2011

Well if someone who is sad witnesses someone who is happy i think that should be an incentive to be happy. Don't you agree?

Actually, no. If you're sad and surrounded by happy people, it can make you feel even more miserable, as they seem to have something you don't, and don't have any way to acquire.

Like when you're single and lonely and you see those nasty lovey-dovey couples, and you feel like murdering them in horrible ways. It's called jealousy.

Actually, as a single person out of choice I am not really jealous at all. I am happy that I won't suffer horribly later, and because I enjoy my freedoms. Those lovey-dovey couples usually end up miserably. And those that do not, are not always lovey-dovey. They are sometimes stressy-messy.
