    Another day in LFD

So... I just got lucky this weekend! As you all noticed there is often a debate on this forum about PvP items in heroics.

I'm sorry to say, but I can no longer take people who claim that PvP items "are bad" serious after this experience:

After whiping 4/5 times on the dragon boss in Stonecore it was time to drop group. Usually I'm a patient person but after giving advice to players I was "the elitist" that has no life. People with full PvE gear performing like a sack of potatoes. Healer dying in fire, only to ankh in fire and die again! DPS dying in fire, tank dying due fire. Almost everyone dying in the blizzard storm.

That run my motivation hit rock bottom regarding the LFD. Hereby a nice screenshot. Apparently the only thing this person would come up with was a "PvP in PvE" comment.

Have a nice day and hope to see you in some heroics with my PvP gear!

    pvp gear is bad...
...relative to other items of the same iLvl.

many pvp items are better than what may be currently available to a player from pve.

as an example: i have chelleys scalpel(378) and ruthless gladiator's gavel (391).

take a guess which i use in pve.

That is my point. The warrior (me) is the one wearing some PvP items

    i agree with you

As a melee you can pull it off but still waste a lot of stats, as a caster you would find it harder as the lack of hit hurts you quite a lot, when you really notice though is when the healer rocks full PVP gear, the mana regen is usually not even close to what's needed. Either way it's still bad for PVE no matter how successful you might have been in one run as another warrior with the same level of gear but full PVE would beat your performance by loads.

Mate pvp item are for pvp.

In pvp anyone in pve item can be oneshooted so he is disadvantaged.
In pve anyone with high pvp pice can get more than a blue pve item and it is an advantage but i dislike that people use pvp item. PVP item should have 0 itemlvl.

I'd like to see the calculations you used to come to that conclusion.

PvP gear is fine to use as dps, and is frequently superior to dungeon heroic gear
this is true now and was true back in wrath, TBC and vanilla,
I imagine it will remain true for future expansions.

dps who would rather wear quest greens over the BoE crafted pvp gear simply due to it having resiliance, are deluding themselves.

The problem with PvP gear is less prevalent now as they upgraded the ilevel of Bloodthirsty to ilevel 358 is that it now performs on par with PvE pieces that you're supposed to have to run heroics ZA/ZG. Previously when Bloodthirsty was only ilevel 339, it underperformed the PvE gear required for those instances and alot of bad players took advantage of it.

You are rare. Most other pvp geared toons utterly fail to grasp the concepts of the mob doing deadly stuff at the same time as it's punching the tank.
And even then, while you certainly did good, you could do better in pve gear.

This. If the person wearing the PVP gear is actually a competent player, then they'll do just fine. But more often than not, I find that the person decked out in PVP gear is incapable of playing their toon properly. That's not an issue with PVP gear, though, that's just bad players.
