i don't usually farm but strangely enough when i came back to the game a few months ago, first thing i did was herb for a couple of hours.. never done it again since..

i would defs go herb because druid flight form is op for it... i wish my druid had herb...

They're both about even, but the nice thing about leveling mining is that if you come to a point where you have some extra gold and want to level up the prof without actually having to grind the farming, you can always buy some ore and smelt it. With herbalism, you have to level the whole way by picking flowers.

However, don't forget to take into account the profession specific bonuses to compare. For a druid (which can heal itself relatively easily), the stamina is probably more advantageous.

*edit* If you're leatherworking, I would strongly consider going skinning. It's not as profitable as mining or herbalism on its own but you can usually get more profit out of it by turning lesser pieces of leather into their greater counterparts. It's also going to be very convenient to get your own mats. Depending on your spec, the crit bonus from skinning could be a big help as well.

    Depends on your server.

mining and skinning were profitable for a couple of toons of mine... but honestly I think mining should also get a truegold formula... like enriched thorium or what ever.... then it would be huge profit... for miners and BS's.

They're about even on my server. Stacks of ore go for more, but herb nodes are more plentiful than ore nodes, so it evens out in terms of time-to-profit ratio.

I prefer herbalism myself for Lifeblood and the Lifegiving seeds. Mining doesn't really offer any other perks beside a small stam boost.

    :EDIT:

I totally forgot that multi-tracking on the map now allows you to effectively farm both. So if maximum profit is your goal, pick 'em both up.

My advice is to dump skinning and LW and get minning and herb as a druid with epic flight you can make tons of gold with those professions .
