Modern Warfare 3 Thread

I didn't see any MW3 thread on the first 2 pages in search, so I decided to make a thread about it since it's coming out soon.

I'm really looking forward to this game. I have a couple of reasons for this:

- It can only be better after something like Fail Ops. The multiplayer on the PC was a huge disappointment because of serious issues on a lot of PC's that met minimum requirements. Even pretty decent mid-range PC's were struggling to get normal gameplay. It seemed to work better on XP which is a hassle to install on any newer version of Windows. Then I switched to the PS3, which had a lot of issues as well. A universal issue for all platforms was the spawn system, which is full of fail. Latency issues (bullets going right through targets, etc.) and other players are really frustrating. A lot more corner camping than any previous CoD I played (I don't mind defending objectives or 'defensive' playstyles, but hiding in corners pisses the majority of players off.) Sprayers get rewarded for spraying while people who actually do aim, and aim down sight get screwed by latency or some dude one shotting you in the leg with a python from a mile away, after you got a ton of hitmarkers on them with an assault rifle. Also Sniper Rifles which take three shots to kill at point blank is completely ridiculous.

- I really like the style of the Modern Warfare series when it comes to graphics. It is much closer to reality than the dull colored graphics Treyarch used in their games. Treyarch games are much more cartoony and that shouldn't be in a game that aims to be as lifelike as possible while steal being reasonable for a game (i.e. healing after a period of no incoming hits).

- The entire storyline in the Modern Warfare series has been very interesting for me. Especially since it depicts events that could take place in this age. (After all, it's MODERN Warfare) This game is supposed to bring it even closer to us. Cities like London, Paris and New York get involved. I have been to London and Paris myself so I'm really interested in what's gonna happen on these maps. Also I like the idea of playing multiplayer in London. =D

- Instead of the same old zombies they implement a new spec ops survival mode. Really got fed up of zombies so this is some nice stuff.

Personally, I don't think anything will change. It'll be a flop like black ops, operating on the same engine as MW1 with the same gameplay. As unfortunate as that is, ActiBlizz hasn't proven me wrong, yet.

for real you think the "kids" will stick to MW3, shame i have to be the one to tell that... they will all move to bf3 as it has more hype. they are not stupid they will get whatever is most hyped,

Its sad how Activision keeps milking CoD. Used to be an amazing series but its quickly becoming the Madden of shooters. It still looks kinda fun though, might pick it up if I get bored of BF3 or Skyrim.

I was quite convinced after I watched the "episode" again... you can clearly see that Ghost wasn't shot to the head. Instead, he has a bullet hole in his back, indicating that the bullet went straight through. Also, they seem to pour all the gasoline on you. Aaaaaaaand, wasn't it in the beginning of the mission where Ghost says something about "why do we have to wear these fire-proof vests?".

Pretty convincing if you ask me!

Yeah... It sold that much because it's called Call of Duty. I honestly ditched my Black Ops (after wondering for 2 months if I should buy it or not) after 8 hours of gameplay.... What a piece of thrash that is, I'll stick to BFBC2. Waiting for BF3 !

I was not a fan of Black Ops, nor am I a fan of Treyarch. In fact I think they suck. But I love the MW series for the online play. Fast paced and makes you feel pretty invincible at times. I'm sick of the MW BF rivalry. They're both great games and very different but equally succesful in their approach to online multiplayer fps. Can't wait to play em both.

CoD series is generally for the crowd that like simple point and spray gameplay, its nothing special (aka it attracts airheads and 10-15 year old kids that whine with their squeaky voices), and the game doesnt deserve the amount of credit it gets, bringing out almost the EXACT same game every year and breaking sale records.

I agree Black Ops sucked but I'm not blinded by fanboi hype to the point where I forget that the CoD franchise EARNED its rep, most recently in the MW games. Sure in hindsight we have criticisms, but they were awesome games worthy of respect.

Then they will get their asses handed to them by those who have been playing for years like myself and quit saying that the game is way to hard. So they will go back to MW3...

What was so bad about black ops. They took out the Nuke, noob tubes and quick scope. MW2 was better but they took out the 3 bad things that MW2 had.
