    Build me a SUPER COMPUTER

Let's set the max budget to 3.5 grand (USD or BPs)

I really don't know much about computers, but I want one which excels in both performance and graphic up-keeping.
If it helps, I recently moved into england.
I don't mind to buy each components and get a uniquely built one,
although ready-made brands are more than welcome.

    Post me a link,
    estimate me a price,
and make set my dream on my super computer to reality!
    Thanks guys!

    ---edit---
Also taken into account of using "Computers - Setup of the Month (by chaud)"
under the unicorn items. Would you guys recommend this as well? or have you got better?
Was also suggested this website http://www.widowpc.com/widowpc_gaming_desktops.php
Are their desktops worth my cash?

2k USD will not build a "super-computer" per say... but for that amount you could get something slightly better than what is in my sig.... and it's no shitty desktop, I assure you. I'd get most of the same items, but maybe bump up the GPU and motherboard. Better CPU heatsink too if you want. :P Or water cool the rig...

I doubt anyone here has access to military research grade hardware, so I'm afraid a super computer is out of the question.

Just get Anon to hack into the US database, and get a computer shipped out that way. Or something....

    Thread rephrase
    What can I get with 3-4k ?
People are taking the word 'super computer' to levels beyond my expectation.
I know you're being factual, but rest your geek pride aside and help a noob
    Thanks.

At the current stage of technology , you can run every single game out there , by spending 2k , might actually be too much . Hardware has evolved liek crazy but games haven't due to console porting and shit .
So I'd say getting a pc with something like an I5 2500k oc'd and a gtx580 or ati 6970 with like 8 gigs 1600mhz ram , and you should have no problem playing , well , every single game there is maxed.

Ill put something together and post it here , just a few minutes.

wow people would rather nit-pick of his use of "super computer" than actually help the guy.

I would do something like this

    CPU - i7 2600K
MOBO - ASUS Z68 PRO or LE (depending on prices in your area)
    HDD - 1x OCZ Vertex3 120gig & 1 x WD BLACK 64mb CACHE 2terabytes
CASE - COSAIR 600T or Coolermaster 692 or HAF 932
    PSU - COSAIR HX750 or HX850
    DVD - Anything with DVD / Blu-ray (Samsung/sony/liteon/pioneer etc)
    GPU - Nvidia GTX580 (Asus/gainward/MSI/eVGA etc)
RAM - COSAIR or GSKILL dualchannel 8/12/16gig depending on prices and budget c9 or better)
MONITOR - Something big and nice Samsung 24" +

If you are just going to use it for gaming , there's no point on going with a 2600k , it has no performance over the i5 2500k apart from the hyperthreading which no game actually uses.

Here's my suggestion , I did not include blue ray drives , nor did i count in monitor or an SSD .

Total 1500 dollars with an i5 2500k , 8 GB ripjaw 1600mhz memory , 1TB hardrive , samsung spinpoint ofc , one overclocked 2GB gtx 580 , an OCZ 700 watt PSU 80+ certified ofc . You can easily get SLI gtx580 withouth breaking the 2.5k mark .

You can build a computer that will run games at high levels for around 1k. Hell I built mine for about 600, and it is great for gaming.

Spending anything more than 1500 USD on a normal PC is unreasonable.

But if you have money to burn check out some of the PCs at https://www.hardware4u.net/items.php...2e198ca1&nav=1

They're Watercooled, Overclocked, have isolating material and general badassery included.

    ^this

My computer is around 7k, plus another 2k in accessories, if you are looking for a gaming computer, 3.5k will let you get a good rig and plenty of toys to go with it, but for a truly top end computer you need roughly $40,000

Are you done trolling? 40,000 for a computer top end? Funny how the Maximum PC only ran 12k, for their DREAM MACHINE.

Crazy? No, he's correct, to go top of the line everything will cost you some cash. And the only gold will be any gold used in the circuits.

And now that you've called him on it, he will likely show you as well.
