SWTOR is a game being made by the makers of SWKOTOR. It is set ~400 years in the future of the events of kotor 2. It is a MMORPG with the biggest budget ever and is the only fully voice mmorpg ever. check it out at swtor.com

I imagine they took out the 'Knights' because the original games were focused around the main character (A Jedi Knight) while this game is more about the Old Republic universe as a whole.

They dropped the Knights part because KotOR 1 and 2 were about Revan and The Exile who were both Jedi Knights. Not everyone is going to be a Jedi in TOR. Originally Posted by MadDocWood

KOTOR followed a Crucial part of the Old republics history and Old republic goes even farther back in time, other than that no not the same game.
