So I bought a couple of 4gb ram sticks off a site and it stated that they were 1600 Mhz, but in my bios it says 1337 (no troll). Did the site lie to me or is it a display error?

it often happens, happened with my motherboard (asus p8p67 or whatever), just go into the bios and change it to 1600

If the bus-speed on your mobo is 1333, then that is why since ram will always downscale to what the bus-speed is. You may be able to alter that in the bios settings.
