Now, I mean bordering on the point of possibly trolling. Example: i saw a healer once who stacked spellpen. The justification was "My heals need to penetrate the tank's gear."

Feral druid passed on BiS pole arm.
Explanation: "I'm a staff druid. I don't use pole arms."
Warrior: "Int allows me to level my weapon skill faster."
Oh wait.
Well it was about a week ago, I saw a mage stacking expertise. Yep on all of his red slots, while his other slots we're actually okay and I asked the question why?
Mage: ''So they can't parry or dodge my spells''
What?
So I gave him the EJ site and he actually changed all of his gems and thanked me.
Holy crap? really, I don't think I have one that bad. If i have heard it I probably blocked it out because it made my brain hurt too much.
I can say the most annoying person I ever used to have to group with as a holy pally who wore all cloth gear and always stood in melee range. She wanted to be able to attack the mobs between heals. /facepalm
probably when some random healing guy needed on DPS shoulders for jan'alai which at the start i said i needed and everybody said was OK. his excuse "you're allready a dps, it is my OS so i need it more than you".
hunter wanting int/sp gear for better heals on their pet....theres worse i know but thats the worse i have personally heard.

i go in to melee with my holy pal on fights where there is no imminent danger for being in melee....why not get free mana between heals/judges?
now the cloth part is just dumb ever since cata.

well, i stacked attack power as a priest in vanilla so I know how.
everyone remembers when some DK's were testing sp gear. can't blame them though, was a new class.
warrior: "I need spell power so my thunderclap does more damage"
"The stats are better!" this was an 85 shaman on the hide of chromaggus, he only needed to replace the shoulders to get the mail specialisation yet he believed the stats where more important. Of course by changing to mail shoulders he would have only changed a few points so no major loss but a huge gain from the specialisation.
Were you on Alterac Mountains? Look, I used seal of wisdom, and meleeing gave me pretty damn near infinite mana. The reason I used cloth was because it was all that would drop for me. I can't just magically materialize the gear I want. I had to use what I could get, and that was cloth.

Hunter stacking defense greens. Refused to take any of the epics his guild tried to give him. They finally kicked him when they found out he was vendoring all his raid loot. He swore to god that he needed the defense for survivability.
Soon to come:
"I'm using daggers for my combat spec because I don't have a good sword/mace/axe for transmogrification yet"
a guy I had known on my old server(he was actually a friend of one of my friends) when lvling his hunter had mostly spell power mail on. I never asked him about it though. We would always joke and call him an elemental hunter XD
On the subject of the pally, if this was pre-cata then there's nothing wrong with that at all. Even post-cata the only issue is the cloth; meleeing the boss as a holy pally is a good plan if there's no extra danger involved (boss aoe, chaining things on the melee, etc) since they get mana on melee hit from a seal.
When I played my resto shaman I wore leather and even cloth pre-Cata all the time. What's the problem?
Mage keeping 333 blue over 359 epic because "It has crit on it."
Shaman keeping 346 over 365 because "It has mastery on it."
The number-one most retarded reason I've seen for equipping an item that's completely wrong for your class/spec/etc: "it has higher ilvl then mine so its better"
Second place goes to all the DKs who stacked spellpower because "it helps my diseeses lol" well after that theory was completely disproven.
