As neat a co-op would be, its not in the works. Although I do enjoy my imagining my friends level 8 Oblivion character trying to contend with my level 40+ monsters.

Not to mention, with the persistent world, anyone starting from scratch once another character is past level 20'ish, is going to have a hell of a time picking up quests, considering that most of them tends to involve either killing someone or putting them on a bus somewhere.

Well, the better and more involving an RPG is, the less sense it would make to implement any sort of multiplayer - Because of the nature of said genre. With alle the world-changing choices and whatnot.

I don't see this happening to any Elder Scrolls game, to be honest. The mechanics, skill system and world in general is clearly intended to be YOUR special place. Although it COULD be fun if it was like DnD-multiplayer, in some modules. Two or more people start their toons together, and can only play when both are online :P
If you add me on Steam, Skype or whatever program/client I share my info for, please write something to identify you in the "Dude/gal wants to join your club"-message. Just so I know that an actual human is on the other end :P

Thank God there are still some games being Single-player only and not having some weird DRM.

The day a non-MMO Elder Scrolls game offers multiplayer will be a sad day. That being said, there's a TON of potential for an Elder Scrolls MMO. If done well, it could damn well be amazing. Unfortunately there's also a ton of room for failure there too. And I don't know if I'd be able to trust Bethesda to make an MMO. =/

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, never, ever, berry butter, never ever whenever you say never forever if the never is forever then it will never happen.

You'll probably wind up playing "online" on Steam by default, but there's no multiplayer or anything.

I honestly miss single player games - big time. I mean, games made purely for you to sit in your ...basement, gaming it up for as long as you want, no multi to mess with you.

No, why would it? It would destroy all that is The elder scrolls.

I agree with this, the game is made for single player... If they add a multiplayer option for having duels with others, I wouldn't mind it, but I want 99% of the game to be about the single player, as with all the other Elder Scrolls games.
