Yeah, I'll be more than happy to hop over onto a new graphic card again if the power-consumption is tiny by comparison.

What is all of this about the TDP ? Do you want weaker cards or what ?

No, but I do want a more electric-bill-friendly card if/when it can deliver the same as a good mid- or high-range card for a reasonable pricepoint.

But imma watch the situation and see how things fare.

Be thankful the electric bill hungry cards of old aren't still around... Dare I bring up the NVidia 8000 and 9000 series cards? >_> I know I've heard stories about them and I remember my 9800 GT seemed very hot, always. ;p

    6850 barely consumes 120W.

Anyway, I believe that if these numbers are real, I think a new computer will have to be built towards the end of the year for me...

    Dunno what's so impressive about the 7970's 1000/4000 @ 256bit compared to my 580's current 900/4300 @384bit.
But comparing clock speeds and bus-widths between AMD and nVidia cards is like apples and oranges I suppose, it's only worthwhile comparing their own cards to each other.

As for prices, knowing AMD they will be priced to compete, with the 7990 being the 12-inch dual GPU monster as usual. I'm more interested in whether performance-wise the 7950 and 7970 will be something like a GTX660 and GTX670 (following from the current trend), will GTX680 be the flagship king of 28nm chips as everyone expects?

Hey, atleast we know for sure that the 7990's codename is my country right? NZ ftw!

It will be significantly faster if it's XDR2. Though the list was confirmed to be fake.
I think in reality they might be a bit reluctant to go with Rambus.
XDR2 definitely looks interesting and I think that it's worth the risk.

Whoa, practically double GDDR5's speeds. But memory can only go so far in improving performance (as noted by GPU overclockers that OC'ing their memory clocks resulted in very small performance gains), in the end clocks and bus-widths play the biggest role. I also need to read up on what "Density" and "Signaling" mean >_<

The only problem is that Rambus has a really, really bad reputation. A ton of problems with their products, countless of ridiculous lawsuits and etc.

I get annoyed at people who cry "omg fake", especially without any form of evidence.

Also, this is the internet and thus:

    1. Any information posted at any time can be fake or unreliable.

    2. You saying it's fake doesn't suddenly make it so.

    3. Neither does me relaying the information from other sites make it true.

AMD is announcing something "big" at 13th this month. Probably Bulldozer but it might be something connected to the Radeons. Or both. http://amd-member.com/newsletters/De...nZone2011.html

And "big" means that they're now over 200MB?
