Why is baleroc hitting the tank for 150k as soon as the first shard appears?

Hey guys, we are attempting H-Baleroc today, we keep wiping because the tank is getting hit by Baleroc for 150k as soon as the first shard appears. We are using the 2 healer strat and both healers are trying to stack up their sparks, so no one is healing the tank.

Is this suppose to happen and how to we deal with this?

Our setup:
Tank - prot paladin
Healer - holy paladin, disc priest
DPS - enhancement shaman, fury warrior, combat rogue, 2x arcane mages, balance druid

You probably want to chain tank and healer CDs when that first shard appears, especially so that your healers can do some shard healing to get stacks.

Tanks should be rotating cd's at the start, HS till it has 17s left on cd then pop GoAK when there is ~4 seconds till 1st blade pop Dprot, after 2nd hit of inferno blade pop HS. That should help out a bit.

right now, we are going into the fight with lifebloom on the tank and the tank just use survival cd's until the healers get their stacks up.

The only thing I can recommend is having him chain CD's to survive on his own (GoAK, DG, DP, etc.). What our healers do is keep healing the tank until our first soaker (sPriest), who happens to soak the whole shard, gets up to 6 stacks of Tormented.

the tank should be ok with becon heals if your hpal is stacking shards,
that said he will have given your tank a new blaze stack jsut before the shard so thats an extra 20% physical taken.

Have you ruled out 3-healing as a viable alternative?

Since popping TW when the first shard spawns is optimal for healers anyways, Arcane Mages who pre-pot and pop all cooldowns right away can do extraordinary dps in this fight, and you have two of them.
