    Warning! for you formatters!

I format my PC often. Well this time I had some issues. My format and clean install kept failing and ended abruptly after the first reboot on installation. Now I searched and found a million different possible reasons. So I thought. Wait? I haven't formatted since getting my latest sound-card. After about 20-30 attempts at format/installing the OS it worked the second I unplugged the sound-card.

Amazing....and all this time I thought my velociraptors were starting to die lol.

That's funny, I haven't had to format since Wind 7/ Chrome came out. With XP/ IE or Firefox it was at least 2 times a year with all the spyware crap. What are you doing to still need to go though the BS of a clean install so often?

Then I would have to say is it worth it???? Is it worth having to piss around with something that much?

    Formatting is so XP

Seriously i have been using W7 for almost a year now, with no drop in performance whatsoever.

Well, for example, if he has spyware (which you can get from doing things not named porn, shady stuff, etc), it's the best course of action. I would rather be absolutely sure it's gone than to have it linger around.

That said, I've done a fresh install 5+ times, and have never had any problems, so...yeah.

I format often because I always say "Ok gona be clean this time" And I always end up doing something suss.

This was my final format for this PC though. I'll be doing all my "suss" shit on the other PC's

Not even that. I never once formated my old Laptop (now approaching 7 years old) and the day I did, 2 years ago, there was no discernible difference in performance after base software had also been installed. And I was not gentle to that system. (Hell I'm surprised the hard drive hasn't died)

That reminds me; I should dig it up and install Windows 8 on it. It handled 7 with little issue.

Virus scan once a week, defragment (mechanical drives) once a month, reinstall once a year...it's always worked for me, and usually coincides with an upgrade or two.

Much as you may claim that your system is still going strong, it's nice to give everything a refresh and clear out the clutter that is near certain to be there after months of continual use.
