Best Hunter is Phil on the Scarlet Crusade server, hands down. He's level 6 and has already whipped 5 level 85's at once while drunk.*

It's been a while since I was seriously involved in any PvP, but as far as mages go there are many names. Healingproof, Pookz, Vidra, Affix, Orangemarmalade, Flyn, Xmo, Abni, and so on. There are so many good ones. I don't know if anyone can name one that unquestionably is the best one either. And are we speaking of current best, or overall best? Because there are so many players who have revolutionised how their respective class has been played in PvP.

Depends what you would define a top PVPer as but Reckful has been a rank 1 glad for every season? you really can't be better than that.
Last season he got Outplayedx and was #2 Rogue ( AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW YEEEAH)
I would define 3K+ to be incredibely good, Some comps are rediculous but It's hard to crack 3k So ye
Edit - Talbadar, Reckful's priest partner is fucking incredible as well.
