As a long time WoW player, I feel the game is dying. Whether or not Blizzard will admit to it, their failures lead to loss of subscribers. I quit officially two days ago after I ran out of will to play the game. I had a very large issue with Game Masters and realized that at the end of the day, I don't play this game enough to pay a company that clearly doesn't care about you, $15 a month.
A month before Cataclysm I returned to DAOC for little over a month and enjoyed every moment of it. I only returned (back to WoW) due to family members wanting to stay with WoW, and I had a guild who was actively trying to kill H-LK (we did it before Cata.. yay?) and I played both before turning my DAOC account off due to not wanting to pay $30 a month when I was putting more time into WoW.
At the end of the day, I think WoW is dying and DAOC has a chance to revive. Arguably the best PVP game due to the amazing keep warfare, and then RvR (Realm vs Realm, as there are three factions instead of two). Dark Age also has amazing leveling systems, where you can level from 1-50 in less than 20 hours if you have friends, and everyone in the community will bring along 'new-players' when helping friends.
With the rumors that Byron (Reckful) has rolled on DAOC, would any of you former players return, or would any of you actually play DAOC seeing how you don't actually have to pay for the expansions? If so, tell us why so that maybe we can open the gate to new players, or people who are gradually falling off the 'WoW-Train' to join a new game, and furthermore develop the DAOC community more. And if your answer is 'no'.. Why not?
