    The Guild

Forged Through War of The Sha'tar realm was formed in the summer of 2009. What begun as a hopeful project by a handful of long-time friends, eventually became a small, functional guild. We have gone through changes in leadership and management, but our focus and integral guild atmosphere remain the same. As such we strive for integrity of the pillars that founded the guild.

We are a 10-man oriented PvE guild. We raid little (3 main raid days a week), but we put a lot effort into what we do and focus on hardmode content. We try to blend RL responsibilities with raiding as best as possible. We aim to see the content at a steady, quick pace and we enjoy being on the front line of new 10 man content. In WotLK, we have cleared all available 10 man content, including Lich King hardmode and server first Halion hardmode. In Cataclysm, we have downed 9 out of 13 T11 heroics, which we return to once Firelands is done for the week. In Firelands, we managed to clear Shannox, Rhyolith and Majordomo before the nerf, and will clear at least 6/7 before Deathwing arrives. For Deathwing, we want to beat the nerfs and get the place cleared on heroic.

    The Team

Our age range varies quite a lot, from people in their early 20s to people in their 40s. One evening we can be very quiet and totally indulged in whatever we are doing, and other we can talk so much random crap that it will make the head of an unsuspecting victim spin. Some of us have a rather strong sense of humour, which might not be to everyone's liking. We do swear in the guildchat and the conversations and jokes might often not be on the most tasteful side. We do not wish to censor our members or police their conversations, and as such both guild chat and Ventrillo are definitely NOT PG13 rated. All in all, people who are easily offended or prefer their guildchat and Vent convos toned down likely won't mesh too well with us.

Even if we like to poke fun at and mess with each other, we are quite tight-knit and we are respectful of the folks we play with, both in and out of guild alike. If anyone would use the uncensored guild environment as means for genuine abuse or harassment, they'd find themselves removed without second chances. It also means that, if you have a tendency to be mindful only of the people who share your guild-tag, you are unlikely to warm your spot here.

Now, as with all things, there might be an occassional disagreement or a personality clash. We try to handle it as smoothly and drama-free as possible. We really dislike bickering and scenes in the public, so be aware you're going to be harshly told to cut the crap if you initiate an argument for no good reason. If it's unavoidable, be responsible enough to sensibly talk it through with the other party, and keep guildchat and forums clear of it.

    You - The Player

Side of obvious and natural requirement to play good enough to be an asset, as opposed to a liability in the content we are tackling, there is more:

We want you to be interested in learning. The fact that you are doing just good enough to contribute isn't that satisfying. We like it when people try to improve and push their boundaries. New encounters are usually straining enough on the raid, even without a handful of people suddenly waking up, and realizing the performance flaw they could get away with previously causes repeat wipes now. Given the size of the guild, we do not have nor do we plan to have class or role leaders. While we want you to be open to advice, and we have plenty of people capable of assisting you if your performance needs finetuning, the majority of research and improving is entirely up to you. If you are very experienced in your role or class, and you are happy to both give and take advice, all the better!

We also want potential recruits to blend well with the current guild atmosphere. This can be hard to gauge both for us and you at first. We solve the issue with a trial period.

There is also the matter of experience and gear. Gear quality is never a deciding factor in outcome of the application. What you do with gear available to you is quite vital, however. Experience is important to us, but it's importance fluctuates depending on the "season" of raid progression. We'd be more inclined to give greenhorn a chance at the start of new raid tier progression cycle than we'd when we have almost finished progression in the tier and are working on the final fight. Naturally though, how good of a player and a person you are and whether we feel you'd be a great asset to the team is the biggest deciding factor, even if you are on the rather inexperienced side.
