Surnames in SWTOR?

I just wanted to post something from the devs:

Daniel Erickson = DE
Stephen Reid = SR

Q: What about surnames?

SR: There's a very good reason we haven't discussed surnames yet, and that will be revealed before ship.

DE: Or not. Those are the only two possibilities.

SR: It's one or the other. I think it'll be revealed before ship. I'm hopeful.

This do look interesting, can it be your own surname or some surname you can pick from a list?
Or something completly different?:P

I hope we'll be able to create our own surnames, or at least put a space in our names to make it look like a surname.

No spaces in your name, however you can put - or ' far as I have been told.
