At the very least tokens in 10mans need to be universal. The current system is fine for 25mans because that's what it was designed for. It just doesn't work for 10mans.

Well, the reason for that is because your raid dont need as many tanking swords as they need spellcaster weapons for example. But ye it tends to lead to situations where those items just never drop. Maybe they could track the drops for your guild or something, so it was equal chance first 1-2 times then reverts back to how it is now. Another problem is the new(??) system where same item can drop so many times. It's not fun to never have your one item drop, because the boss decides to drop 3x of the same useless crap

Random loot are killing my raid.
We nearly ONLY dropped mail dps/caster from the beggining of T13, it became a joke. In 2+ months 0 cleaver, 2 Xbow, 1 polearm, 1 tailor plan.
No tank trinket nor sword on Bet, ONE skullstealer (yeah, our plate dps are depressive), no 2H sword.
Random loot is really TOO random for us this time.
To be honest I like a more toned down concept of AQ and Naxx 40 for gear pieces, particularly sets. Have the bosses drop materials and then have players turn in said materials to get gear. Rng gets removed for the most part (they could have the rng of how much materials dropped per kill) and people would still get that jitter of, "yay I get a new piece of gear today/this week". I honestly can't see why they got rid of the crafting portions but kept the rng stuff from those two attempts with a system similar to this.
to this day my priest still has not gotten the 7.0 helm token from kelthuzad, ran it when it was relevant, running it now, still no stupid halo.

Yea in our 10man group if we invited you and you were a Rogue, you'd e the most geared player there without a doubt. We get so much leather agility and SO many daggers that we DE most of it or it goes to our Resto Druids offspec which she rarely uses.
This is the best suggestion I've seen regarding this.
10M: 1 token for all classes.
25M: 3 different tokens for the classes. (current system)
If there would be a problem with currency at the exchange vendor, just make a separate vendor with the new "universal" currency token for 10 mans.
Thumbs up, Lohe!
I wish Blizz had a formula that read the class makeup of your group and would only allow the bosses to drop gear that matched your class make up.
I am sure this would be a very big technical challange, but I can image Blizz would never do this because people would get the gear they need so much faster the content would get old faster.

We are 6/7 heroic, with 40% of our raid consisting of Rogue/Druid/Mage/Dk (10m).
They have already gotten their heroic offset tier pieces. If I had to guess, I'd say that tier piece drops for us about 90% of the time, not exaggerating.
yeah, my guild has NEVER seen a dps casting trinket drop in firelands. Completely stupid.
My own experience is the RNG is far from fair. I have a buddy I used to tease about being liked better by Blizzard because he seemed to be getting drops all the time. As a joke we decided to level two NE rogues side by side to level 30 to "prove" his drop rate was higher than mine. It turns out it actually was. By the time we reached level 30 he had received over three times the number of green and blue items that I had. Very frustrating. I think it would be easy for Blizzard to come up with a Loot program that scanned the classes and equipment of the players in the raid then drops something applicable to the group. I just don't think they want too.
So what - been clearing firelands on my warrior alt since release and have yet to see a weapon drop. Bad luck - no big deal.
The loot tables should take into account the classes that are in the raid.

Life is short Glory is eternal
Imo remove class tokens, and just have tokens.
That would go a long way to soften the RNG. Could also make other items purchasable via points/items that drop from bosses at some much lower rate, so say by the 20th time you kill a boss, you could get an item you need off of it. Or something of the like?
There are still many items we've never seen from Firelands on regular or heroic and yet the nerfs have already been in place. I don't think this really occurs for 25mans.
i still refuse to believe lord stompy can drop a cloth head , i REFUSE !!!! -.- ( 4 of us waitting, no cloth ....why would he ? i'm sure the bastard sold it and drank all the moneys .... ) oh yeah , and only mage tokens drop , hurray , there's a lock , 2 pallies and a priest in there too
They could make the pieces cost valor, and have it be like 3k per helm/shoulders and 2.2k for the other 3 pieces... and then, and heres the kicker, make it so valor is only obtainable from killing current raid bosses. /gasp
Would mean only way you're getting tier helm/shoulders is by killing 25-30 bosses per piece.
