Hardly, we're not living 20 ago (unfortunately). Most contact kids and teenagers have these days with Arthur Conan Doyle is that miserable excuse of a movie they made a while back. Makes me slightly depressed. No one reads anymore.

The modernized mini-series isn't the best, either. I HATE that Sherlock.

You mean the new one with Martin Freeman and... What's his face? The tall guy? I actually don't see it as all that bad; it's obviously not the same as the Jeremy Brett era and they are going a bit balls on the wall with the changes they're making to the stories, which bothers me, but it's relatively enjoyable - though I've only watched the couple episodes they brought out and that was as soon as they became available so I may be misremembering.

High five! And yeah, that's one of the reasons I usually don't go for paperbacks if/when given the choice; even if you're ridiculously careful they are bound to get a little bent/etc over the years regardless.
