lga 1155 is mainstream..............

or go for cheap Lga 1366 which were the best in the past 4 years

Lga 1366 is older but its for gamers and pc enthusiasts

Lga 1155 is newer and mainstream (for cheap mass production) no matter how much companies dress up gamer mobo's for lga 1155 it will be inferior to the older enthusiast line, especially since their cpu's all contain integrated graphics which only wastes die space for people who use any video cards.

It's been bencmarked and proved many times that in gaming you get zero benefit from triple channel vs dual channel RAM in x58 board. Triple channel shows only in memory benchmarks, not real world use, that's why it was not used in Sandy Bridge.

for the love of pete educate yourself people! you spend all that money on an unlocked cpu with a very advanced intergrated graphic solution to not even use the graphic solution because your gaming........ games don't run on integrated graphics, meaning you get a gpu which means you paid all that to get an inferior processor for your purpose!

Heres why you don't do this

i-7 920 (or the 930 refresh) 4 cores no integrated graphics = 100% cpu
i5-2500 4 cores and intergrated graphics = 80% cpu and 20% gpu now over clock by 20% (which is a hefty amount)

120% cpu power from the i-7 920-30
96% cpu and 24% gpu power from the i-5 2500

even with the 20% overlock the i-5 is inferior to the unoverclocked i-7 because the entire cpu is not a cpu its part gpu that you will not use so its worthless!!!

@ita never in my post did it say cheaper i said get the cheap i-7 which overclocks freakin fantastic 20% is achievable on air if you know what your doing 30% ez on water

the 2500k is the best gaming processor available.
