[Request] List me some epic new games!

    Hello, fellow forum members.

Straight to the point of my topic:
Due to having a really old machine I've been unable to play ANYTHING that has been released past 2007-2008.
As of now tho, I've gotten myself a pretty decent laptop that can run the games I've so far tested on at least medium with decent fps, which is far more than enough for me.

What I am looking for is a suggestion or two on what I've missed in the past couple of years, as of big titles that have proven their gameplay to be epic!

    So far I've installed:
Star Wars : The Force Unleashed
    GTA IV
    NFS : Hot Pursuit 2

    Thanks in advance! <3

These. I might also suggest getting a fairly old game in Star Wars: Battlefront II.

I picked that up for like 2.50 on steam. Got 18 hours of playtime completing it 100%, such a good value. It's fun as hell, but sadly the AI is retarded, still waiting on Battlefront 3 : /

I've actually been massively disappointed with newer games lately Dead Island was fun but i eventually got bored of getting gas for people.

Total War Shogun 2 is probably the only game left on my steam that i didn't buy and end up uninstalling within the week, but hmm 2008 is a fair while ago now, i'd definitely recommend the dragon age/mass effect series if you haven't already played them.

    Fallout new vegas
Call of duty modern warfare(COD4)(you may have already played this)
    Deus Ex: human revolution
    Left 4 Dead 2
    Dead Island
League of Legends - Doesn't exactly need good hardware but very fun if played with a decent group.

Fable, even if you have it, play it again. Other that that I would lay down some pre orders for Skyrim, and Battlefield 3/MW3.

How are you finding the Force Unleashed? I've been playing Jedi Academy lately, because I just had to swing a lightsaber around and use force powers. If the Force Unleashed is just as fun, I'd be willing to grab it.

I played Oblivion till recently. Was quite fun, but my system struggled to play it, just as I struggle to play WoW with a very low framerate and lots of lag. I'd recommend it, though. It has a lot of depth. Just, um, don't go into third person view. It's terrible. >.<

Give Dragon Age and Mass Effect a shot; see how you like those. I haven't played either, but heard they are pretty good. There's always Portal / Portal 2 as well. The first one was really cool (can't say how the second one plays as I never got it). And along those lines, Half-life 2 was excellent; though I never did get through the 2nd or 3rd episodes. :/

Looking forward to Path of Exile, Skyrim and Diablo 3, so for future titles, check those out.
    For the Alliance!

    Thanks again, guys.

I've played Dragon Age: Origins on a mate's PC, and am still considering whether to get Dragon Age 2 or not, since many people say it is a ruined DA:O. :/

@Gaiwyn, so far it's been a lot of fun, the upgrade system seems a bit clunky but it's alright. I'd give the demo a shot if I were you (and if there's one..).

minecraft is pretty awesome. tons of gameplay like an MMO in a one-off payment. I particularly like the adventure maps I find on the minecraft forums.

apart from that, just reassuring some of the above titles I've personally played: Batman: Arkham Asylum, Portal 1 + 2 are all amazing. Maybe I should try some of these others people are listing too...

Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga

My top pick for a PC RPG.
