They've actually got a team to sort through the hundreds of games they get sent to find the good ones now. So if it's not overly exciting it probably wont be :<.
And at the Jeff hate i don't really understand it. Sure he rages a fair bit but he's still entertaining. If he's still entertaining that's all that matters.
Should also add if you haven't seen their announcement on youtube yet you should. Explains why the quality was a bit bad recently. They should do much better now though. They got out of the satanic force of Machinima and signed with TGS the same people that run day 9 and totalbiscuit's stuff.
Yeah I saw this When I'm at university I can't play Starcraft in spare time due to internet restrictions, so I end up watching it instead. Think I've watched all episodes of every When/Will Cheese Fail and then all the Inbox to Icebox. Quite a few Normal games too. The trend in quality was definitely noticeable.
Same :/ My experience was different (again). All I got was more zergs going for the 7 roach push but delaying and going for like 15 roaches, by which point I've got a bunch of stalkers, 2 cannons and 2-3 immortals at my natural, with either blink on the way or +1 atk. I don't move when they retreat to get out of cannon range then they just pile in and get stomped...Originally Posted by Wass
This one I had was fun, he saw I went FFE and he went FE on Bel'Shir, so instead of droning up built about 30 lings, ran past my 2 cannons and tore shit up in my main. Think he killed only about 5-6 probes and no buildings <.> He had such a chance but squandered it. I had a zealot about to pop and only 2 gates, no warpgate. He failed hard. Then he tried to burrow about 40 roaches past my cannons and lost half his army before he could get them up... Then he built MORE ROACHES despite having a Spire and Hydra den (didn't build a single muta or hydra, I had blink and High Temp ready though) and tried to Nydus into my base not once but twice, followed by 2 random ones in the middle of the map.
End of the match he said "I suc... need more needus worm!"
Mmmmmmm, delicious overwhelming amounts of cheese. *Homer-drool*
Is it just me or is everyone playing zerg now? I have to say at least 17 out of my last 20 games have been ZvZ. Its getting boring now :/
Well, fixed the launcher.
And nop, Terran all the way. I shall multitask for the glory of the terran dominion!
After I did housework and caught up with my studies, that is :/
Say what, it's about Protoss. Although I am currently learning Terran because I started learning Zerg but really didn't like the feel, was too different. At least with Terran the core of your army is the same just with a few changes around the edge, it seems to be about having the right number of production facilities per base and balancing gas (not too hard) but then just keeping up a constant unit production without putting too many in the queue that you're stuffed incase of an emergency or too few that you get downtime.
Macroing as toss and terr is pretty similar yes. The way they play is pretty different though. Terran needs to constantly harass. One could call it "Guerilla warfare".
I get the feeling (it's less of a feeling more of an obvious thing) that terran has to do macroing from the building and rally points a lot more. Whilst you have to keep going A and D for Marine Marauder (I think) on a pretty regular basis, then same at starport and factory, with the standard micro. With toss I only have to do that with Robo and Stargate. due to warpgates I just mash W and then take half a second to think about what I need then can basically spam click. Units on demand. Don't have to go around looking for my barracks and choosing specific units at specific locations. Doubt it's much/any harder the terran way once you're used to it, but protoss gets lazymode defo.
I haven't played much Terran but there isn't a need to look around for specific buildings to make your units. I made all my units without looking at my base. I placed all production on the same hot key. It defaults to raxs first, factories second, and starports third. Tab cycles to the next building type. Just remember to queue up the units requiring tech lab first. That way you don't end up with marines queued ahead of marauders at your tech raxs for example. Takes a little getting used to but like everything else after a few games it's second nature.
I don't play terran much but i pretty much rax on 3.; Queuing tech units before marines. Factory on 6 and starport on 4. I used to have the same problem until my brain went "hurrrr" and realised it would only make tech units from tech rax and to queue them first.
Why the hell does "Queuing" look wrong?
Also i used to play Zerg at high diamond/low masters level, but witched to Toss a couple weeks ago because the zealot skin was too sexy. Yes i am that fickle.
So now in high gold I am encountering the 2 rax "FE" aggression from Terran which having never seen before I just lost to twice in a row before looking up a different 1 gate FE, following that, and still getting destroyed because he went Marauder so ate my stalkers. I just can't seem to be able to hold against a stream of Marines/Marauders. Even a few days ago I had my second just up and running, all is well, had 4 warpgates and a robo was beginning to tech up more and I get a constant stream of marine marauder I can't hold back. Watched replay and he took a 3rd as soon as his first wave came, then proceeded to build 6 rax (!) in the middle of the map and just streamed units at me... great... Was trying to get Colossus but had to invest too much in defense.
Can see I'm going to have fun on this one, PvT is already my least favourite matchup, only because it can be dragged out sometimes whereas PvP at this level at least, is quick. In these games though where he's gone for the "FE" I've never actually seen them expand because they start moving around and decide fuck it lets keep going. I think I need to use some Sentries I cannot see another way around this, but then idk if I have enough gas - barely enough for stalkers. Not like I can go zealots, busy forcefielding a ramp.

MerinPally, if u want to practice ur PvT, I got time now. Wassinator#2662.
I'm probably better, but I can give you helpful tips and clues.
If you scout the 2rax FE (or at least suspect it) you need to 1gate exp with gas behind it, and put down a 2nd warpgate immediately after u put down ur nexus. Make sentries, zealots with only 2 stalkers in the mix, no more. Forcefields/guardian shields will kick ass in the early game against 2rax pressure.
This would work pretty well. I'd also consider trying to hide a probe off the initial scout to get a proxy up later and warp in say 3 zealots to pressure the 3rd if he gets greedy or the natural. He'll either have to come back to deal with it or lose a lot of scvs.
Are you getting out a core asap if you scout the 2 rax? Photon overcharge is great at preventing early pressure.
Problem I've got is that the units come streaming into my base just as the nexus goes down, so all I've got is a zealot a stalker and maybe a sentry. And they don't stop coming, I'm following the guide but meh just a practice thing I guess, but there's no way 1 stalker 1 zealot 1 sentry are gona hold against the 2-3 marines and 1-2 Marauders I'm finding at that point. In the other case it was mass marines and bunkers. I think I just need to practice the actual build make sure all my timings are correct first (supply wise they are and I have no downtime on probe production but it seems the timings dont match up, it says to warp in 2 units off your 2 gates, seconds after building your second gate so I must be doing something wrong).
Thanks for the offer but I'm not too sure it's worth your time, solely because starting tomorrow I'll have to play a lot less as I need to do some revision as I have uni exams shortly, and then in 2 weeks time, I'm not going to be playing again until late June, by which point things will have changed strat wise anyway, maybe gamewise too Even then, chances are I'll have forgotten everything and learn from scratch, due to exams and alcohol consumption. Is what happened 2 weeks ago.
I'll add you anyway because when I come back in late June, the only thing stopping me playing from then onwards until ever, is my interest in the game. Mine is Merinicus #524, anyone else on this thread feel free to add me as well but in terms of teaching me, it's really not worth the time Might be cool to get some mmochampion teams sorted for the team leagues though, I know I'll be looking for that come summer.

I don't have time, I don't even get to scout it. If I follow the guide on when to scout, I can't get into the base so all I see is 1 rax. If I send it at 9 then patrol it around the base, a marine comes and kills it and I'll see 2 rax but I don't know he's going for an FE necessarily as I know so little about terran. I only know about it because after the first game when he did this but then instead of expanding put a bunker at my base, he started laughing and saying "what I saw was so pathetic I thought I'd just keep going". I was following this:
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft...E_(vs._Terran)
then at 27 when I drop the nexus, about 20 seconds later in will come a bunch of marines or a few marines and a marauder. I'll drop the second gate but then I've got plenty of minerals but I don't have the gates to warp in zealots to do the damage and I won't have the gas for an MSC. None of the games have got to the point where he'll bother expanding simply because he's stopped my expansion and so far at least I've not had 2-3 sentries out to block the ramp permanently, so he just keeps going.
Edit: Being a less skilled player just due to unfamiliarity with the game (I hope, first RTS as well) if I continue to struggle I'll use something like http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft...E_(vs._Terran) for the next 2 weeks but I might be able to mostly ignore this problem until July :P

In all honesty if you're running into 2 rax aggression so much, play every game that you scout a 2 rax, even if you dont see a CC, as if it were an expand off the back. Either get out as soon as you see the rax and in place of warpgate research straight away, delay it by getting the core out early to pool energy, then starting the research. You should be able to have the nexus finished and have a photon overcharge ready by the time any units turn up.
the worse you'll do from over-reacting to the 2 rax is delay economy a bit. If he doesn't come to attack you can always harass the natural and recall with core.
Have to say that build you're following is really old as well. Are you seeing really early marauders?
Following that build, very shortly after putting the nexus down (the thing doesn't even get to 50%) I've got marines and sometimes marauders coming at me. I just picked it because on the protoss strat page on TL it was present on the working builds Still, it's just going to be a case of continued practice anyway.
