Looking for a new laptop, any suggestions?

I'm looking at purchasing a new laptop, (I already have a good desktop, but i need a laptop for college), and I want to get one where I can get play some games, (the old one played wow on low at about 30 fps -.-) I am not that good with computers, so I was wondering what kinda laptop I can get for my budget.

So $1,000 roughly is my budget for the laptop, which is a low budget for anything gaming wise I am sure, but I was wondering if anyone had an idea for what I should be looking at.

But i just cant see myself buying an alienware, I feel like I would pay so much just for the alienware logo. And The m11x seems good for a small 11.6 inch laptop, but surely I could get as good or better, with a larger screen if I didnt go alienware, right?
