Hello again all, I just recently started to watch Persona 4 the animation and I must say that I really enjoy it a lot! I am almost done with it and wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a similar anime or type of anime?

Very Good:
Clannad (Drama)
Monogatari (Can't really define it)
Madoka Magica (Action/Psych)
Steins;Gate (Drama/Psych)



A personal favorite that not many people know about or would think about watching. This show is absolutely brilliant with a masterful story.

Shin Sekai Yori (From The New World) (Action/Super-Psych/More-Than-Super-Psych/Partial-Horror)


For people getting into anime the best ones would probably be the must watch ones and Steins;Gate. Monogatari and Madoka would be a bit weird for people getting into anime and Clannad is more sob-story but great.

Though out of all of them my top recommendations would be Fate/Zero and Shin Sekai Yori.

I just realized you might think it was a response to yours. I was being very broad in the shows I listed, I haven't seen Persona 4 yet. Though what I listed I would recommend to anyone.

2013 has been an awful year for anime from what little I can tell. Normally even a bad year, you get two or three amazing ones.

Is Attack of the Titans the only high quality anime almost 3/4 of the year in?

Note. Not counting something like Shin sekai Yori that is a carry over from 2012.

Far from it. And to list Titan as the one example of a good anime....Titian isn't a bad anime, and I do enjoy it, but it certainly isn't the only good anime this year, nor the best one by any stretch.

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha (Fantasy/Action) (The Spice and Wolf of government)
Mondaijitachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou desu yo? (Comedy/action/over-the-top fighting)
Suisei no Gargantia (Mystical/Sci-Fi/Mech/Urobuchi)
Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru (Comedy)
Hataraku Maou-sama! (Comedy/Urban Fantasy/McDonalds)
Railgun S (Action/Comedy)
Servant x Service (Office Comedy)
Gin no Saji (Slice of Life)
Gatchaman Crowds (Action)


None of the season are as good as Fall of 2012 (the best one in recent memory imo), but each season has some great shows.

Of the ones I listed my top 3 would be:
Mondaijitachi
Gargantia
Hataraku Maou-sama!


Railgun too but that holds a special place in my heart.


Attack On Titan is "okay". It'd be better if the pacing wasn't absolute shit and they gave a damn about the animation quality. The story is great.

The point is, to actually say a year is bad you have to watch, or attempt to watch, every single show that airs. You can't (I'm not saying you are doing this) watch 2-3 shows and not even bother with the others thinking they are bad before even watching them.

Fall 2012 was the first season I actually watched currently airing anime. I think I was following like 20-25 shows. That was such an amazing season. Just looked at the chart and I can't believe how many amazing shows were packed in one season.

Seriously though: Fate/Zero. It's not shitty romance like SAO and far better action.


Gosick is okay, it has romance and action and a gothic feel to it with a lolita.

Mirai Nikki is both really bad and okay at the same time. Some great side characters but extremely shitty MC and a pretty great main girl yandere.

Pacing I'll agree with, but idk how you could say that about the animation, I find it to be one of my favorites when it comes to the actual animation. A lot of detail put into some of the fights that I don't notice until I go through and pause it repeatedly.

I actually can't think of much shows like SNK.

The only thing I can KIND of relate with SNK is maybe Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (2012), but replace the edgy grim dark with goofy camp and amazingness all over.
