    Well...

    1) It's QUAD channel.
    2) It's 1866MHz.
    3) It's timings are 9-10-9-27.... not bad at all.
    4) It runs at 1.5v.

If I was building an x79 computer I'd probably be willing to pay this.

Obviously not you, but some people need it. Renderers, folders, people who use their computers more as work stations and not as gaming computers, which is really what the x79+32GB of RAM would be more aimed at.

640kb RAM? That sounds like a good amount. You youngsters with your fancy pancy packs of 32GBs! Oh back in my days.. *mumble*

I know that $30+ per GB sounds like a lot for today's standards, but I remember paying over $100 per GB when I first built my Athlon 64 custom rig with 2GB of RAM... It was amazing back then. Sad part about it is that I have just recently moved up to 4GB with my new laptop, my old PCs and laptops all had 2GB.

would be nice for gaming, just load the entire freaking game into memory when the memory would otherwise be idle and you won't ever have to wait after that, shame the games aren't built that way

Yeah. But in theory you could have the game on a RAM-disk and get a similar benefit.

if I needed it for my job i sure would pay for it, tho 6x4GB dd3 would come a lot cheaper, but more than 8 GB is completely useless in gaming (ok maybe you could need 16gb if you are like 15 boxing wow on one computer :P)

If I needed that much, then yes I'd buy it. But it's not one of those "get it just to have it" things.

Also, I wonder how long it'll take for the 8 gig sticks to not cost a fuckload.

At the rate RAM has been dropping in price.

    Literally my 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz pack I bought back in March was $110..... now it's like $50.

I say wait 6 months and see what happens! :P
