How to find a raiding-guild? (Question, not FAQ)

    I did search for a post like this, but didn't find any, and didn't find any rules against these kinda posts, so here it goes;

How do I find a raiding-guild? I don't really trust the ones I see in /2 trade, as most of them are RP etc. (I'm playing on Argent Dawn, EU)
On the official forums there's some guilds recruiting, but they're mostly out of my league, or doesn't need a tank.

So, where's the best place to find raiding guilds? And if there's not many on the forums, does that just mean no guilds really need tanks,
or am I looking for guilds at the wrong place?

Not much guilds need a tank, that's the reason.

I'd start checking your realm on pages like wowprogress or guildox to see which guilds have good progress, then checking their webistes to see what they need.

If guilds doesnt seem to need tanks so much, make an application anyways. You never know when they will need one for an alt run, farm run or whatever and always have DPS gear so you can just say you are DPS main or tank main specc.
What is wrong with RP guilds also?

Even though guilds can seem out of reach its always worth a shot. My friends helped me to get into the top guild on the server when I didnt even have all bosses down in 25 man ICC (During WOTLK)

I'd just make an application on a guildsite of your choice. Even though guilds were not looking for mages (I'm a mage myself)..I got accepted in alot of guilds by making applications. Most of them will make an exception when the player is decent geared and put some effort in the apply.

just apply to all the guilds you see on the server, top to bottom ask around to see if a guild needs a tank... but yeah the 1st thing "I" would do is trasfer off AD, its a horrible place

Why don't you try www.wowprogress.com? There's a recruitment function where you can enter your class and spec and a few things about the guild you're looking for (server, language, etc.) and it'll show you which guilds are looking for what you offer. Of course, the information may not always be up-to-date, but it's up to you to check their websites/forums and everything

Well, first of all you should know what kind of guild you want OP. Limit your search-area. If you wanna raid 20-30 hours a week or just 3-10 hours.

Then you could check fan sites, check people in SW/trade channel, or offical realm forum.

cant be to hard, unless your realm is dead.

I play on Argent Dawn EU as well, so I might be able to provide some help:

While most of the guildrecruitment in /2 is from RP guild, I have seen plenty of decent guilds looking for people there. That being said, there is not a whole lot of recruiting of tanks at the moment it seems, seems to be mostly healers. But do not be afraid to ask officers/GM's in the guilds you are interested in. Sometimes they will need a tank for other teams, alt runs etc.

Good luck in finding a good guild

    AD dead? Good one ^^

But as someone mentioned above you should probably leave AD and go for a less crowded server such as Ravenholdt or Defias brotherhood. (These have better guilds overall)

The realm forums and the mmo-champ forums are the best places to start.

Are you just looking for a guild on Argent Dawn or would you realm transfer?

That is more or less the best way IMO.
Just continually keep try to keep your post on the first page on the WoW Realm Forums, and youll eventually be picked up.

Go to your Realm Forums and check the recruitment threads.

Go to WoWprogress.com and check wht guild are currently on your level of progression and check their websites.

If you're considering X-Realm transfers, theres a Recruitment Forum on the official Boards.

Playing on Argent Dawn EU here, as well.
Our guild is looking for a tank actually, and checking your armory, your gear seems to be good enough, as soon as you enchant that weapon. (your spec seems a little odd to me, but I'm not playing a warrior, so I'll let those who do chime in, if you actually go and apply)
The only issue is, that we're Horde, so you'd have to get a faction change, if applying and getting accepted.
(but don't change the faction first, obviously)

    If you're interested, here's our recruitment thread: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/1710375393 .

Go to google and then you search Wowprogress and you take the first link then you go on Realms > Eu and then Shift + F then Write Argent Dawn then you click on it and you can see the progress on guilds that is on your server and probably they have a website linked to that guild
