Just heard that Inheritance book 4 is due out Nov 8th. I am pretty excited, this series was quite enjoyable . Anyone have any thoughts as to who will be the rider of the new green dragon??

I would love to see the first dwarf rider, however paolini is adamant that the 4th book is the final in the series, and given how the visions/dreams of the emerald dragon flying with saphira have been mentioned several times i am expecting it to be arya and their relationship to progress. Who knows only time will tell, either way cant wait to see the final part of the tale unfold.

Before I read book number 4 I should consider re-reading book 1-3. My memory on the Inheritance series seems a bit rusty when thinking about it

Definitely excited, been periodically checking the site every 2 months or so looking for news and I was ecstatic to see the announcement the other day. I'll probably reread the rest of the series before I buy the new one.
As for the rider.... I'm kinda hoping there won't be one. The lore behind the riders says that the dragons appropriated a certain number of eggs to the riders, but that there were still wild dragons. Seeing as a major question in the book is fate of the dragon race as a whole, the reintroduction of an independent dragon would be a good start.
EDIT: I just remembered the whole "Egg given to the riders won't hatch unless it meets the right rider" stipulation, so it's pretty unlikely that the dragon will be riderless. I'm sure Paolini could come up with some explanation, but with what's behind it I'd say the dragon will probably hatch to an elf.Last edited by Darnash; 2011-04-22 at 07:10 PM.

Indeed. Movies often ruin books, but Eragon was some of the worst I've seen ever.

myeh... I'll get it, but I may actually break the habit and wait for the paperback, but as you'll know if you've seen any of my posts in the various 'fantasy books' threads, I kinda hate Eragon :P tbh I'm not 100% sure I'll buy this, as I kinda wanna know how it ends, but I'm tempted just to borrow the book from someone who IS willing to pay for the book

Took forever. I gave away my original collection, but will read the final book because I read the last 3.
Just hope they don't make another movie, or if they do, they don't hire the original director and get someone good and remake the first.

Arya, it's male and Saphira is female, if they end up romantically involved then their dragons would be the progenitors of the renewed dragon race.
I also hear it's green, and although it may be a coincidence, Arya has a thing for green.
