Am I mad for doing green quests 70-80?

So due to various XP boosts and the 70-80 changes, I'm at level 78.5 and still in Dragonblight. I've about 30 quests left for the achievement.

However all the quests I'm doing are obviously green and have been for some time now.

Am I mad for staying at a low level zone and pounding through the greens? I kill the mobs very quickly obviously and the quests are a breeze.. group quests solo'ed etc.. but I keep looking at my XP bar wondering if the grind is taking longer than it should.

Should I be moving to one of the high end zones or should I just stay where I am and enjoy the easy quests?

We all play the game for individual reasons. If you want to finish off a specific goal before you move on to different content do it. There is no right or wrong the leveling process IF you are having fun doing it.

Green quests are fine. The only problem I would see is if you are 80 and doing green quests in Northrend instead of doing Cata content. Hanging in Northrend after 80 will really slow you down.

Leveling is easy. Do it how you want.

But am I taking a huge XP hit doing it the way I described? Fun is one thing but if it's going to take me a lot longer to get to 80 I'll move.

That's how I do it in Northrend and Outlands. I only use 2-3 zones for each. I stay in a zone until I get the achievement for quests, then move on.

Outlands -> Hellfire, Zang, Nagrand (like 20 quests tops)
Northrend -> Borean Tundra, Dragonblight, Zul'Drak, IceCrown (if RNG hates me and I haven't hit 80 yet)

And yes, it will take quite a bit longer, green is reduced in exp, while yellow is neutral, and orange/red high.

Then I would recommend you move on. Questing in zones too low are for obvious reasons not useful for quick leveling.

It's not really going to take 'a lot longer' though. At most, it'll tack on an extra hour or so to the leveling experience, with the added satisfaction of finishing the Wrathgate chain up to the cinematic, so I'd stay in Dragonblight if I were the OP. :P

I think it depends on what said quests are.

As I was leveling through northrend on my lastest toon, I was also doing the netherwing dailies, because I don't like the wind riders. I much prefer the netherdrakes.

These quests were green to me, and as they were level 70 quests the EXP i did get was rather crap.

I was 75 or so when I got my netherdrake. While not a not of levels higher than what the quest was designed for (70), the EXP drop was fairly large, in comparison to the level of quests I should be doing. But with guild bonus and the fact I was a skinner killing all the mobs I needed to to get my nether hides was a decent chunk of EXP. So much grinding!

If you are an enchanter doing low level quests is a fairly decent way to level enchanting without having to buy the mats of the AH. Just simply DE the quest rewards/drops.

If you are a completionist and like to do all of a zone before moving on to the next one, there is nothing wrong with that.

Yeah. I myself, tend to stick to yellow areas, and always move on mid chain if I can. But I like to level as efficiently as possible. There is nothing wrong with how you are doing things, except one thing I can think off. Higher level areas provide higher iLevel quest rewards. And you are likely to need that for the beginning of Cata. Or you may find things difficult and/or innefficient.

Definately move on to either Hyjal or Vash'jr as soon as you hit 80 though. Staying in Northrend will severly gimp your XP gains.

    Good luck

Most of the time i go to Northrend from Hellfire P or Zangar if im slacking, and to the new areas from Dragonblight, or Dragonb-Stormpeaks and new zones.

Start Icecrown til 80 and then head to Cata content.

Nothing wrong with doing that! I tend to do each zone I come across before moving on, regardless of experience losses.

Have to consider that while you get somewhat less EXP per quest, you also complete them faster. So if you get 5% less EXP, but finish 15% faster, you're +10%.
