Well 5850 > 6850 and the Asus cooler > Powercolor. If i was you i would go for http://ncix.com/products/?sku=56262&...anufacture=XFX not the most quiet card on sale but a good performer for the price.

ASUS!!!, it does cost a little bit more but it is also a little bit faster. I also prefer the ASUS company over powercolor as well.

EDIT:I thought they were both 6850s? did I misclick or something? ah crap nvm now I see it lol. They are not that far apart in performance really, I would still stick with the ASUS one.

Radeon 5850 is a bit faster than the 6850. So it comes down to the price.

As brand i would suggest one of the following:
    - Sapphire: good cooling solutions across the board (standard and high-end like vapor-x)
    - MSI: excellent high-end cooling (Cyclone and TwinFrozr/Hawk/Lightning)
    - Gigabyte: not sure if they do Radeons currently. if they do, then pick one with a WindForce cooler
    - XFX: no direct experience, but it seems they have good cooling on the better cards

I personally can't recommend Asus (at the computer store i work, we had really bad experiences with their Radeon 5xxx cards). PowerColor is in my memory as a cheap brand from up to 1-2 years ago. Didn't do anything with them since.
If you just want a standard Radeon, go with Sapphire. If you want premium cooling take MSI (either Cyclone or TwinFrozr/Hawk).

Why do something simple, when there is a complicated way?
