should a pally take bs for the gear or is something better

right now i have mining on my pally tank but i wam wondering if i should takw bs for the gear, would it be worth it or should I choose a more profitable profession.

All of the blacksmithing gear is BoE so having BSing doesn't get you any extra gear. What it does get you is two extra gem slots though, which ends up being a better bonus than the flat stam bonus you get from mining. So, if you want to min / max your pally, blacksmithing is better to have.

Engineering is sick cause you can lineup PT procs with engineer gloves and divine plea, as well as using it with holy radiance for nice burst healing

all professions have their own benefit. at different times each will have their own point of high profit. just pick one and stick with it. another question to ask is, do you have another miner to get all the mats to level up your BS? if not, it seems like you'll use up more money buying the mats to level up. Unless you want to farm the crap out of ores before you drop mining.

If you already have Mining, I wouldn't drop it to pick up BS. Not sure if that's what your question was concerning. If you want BS, keep Mining till you max it out, otherwise, as another poster already mentioned, the money you might save by making the gear you want instead of buying it, is going to be wasted on spending that same money (if not more) on mats to level BS.

But, if you don't have a 2nd profession or just never leveled it, sure by all means. The extra slots come in pretty handy, the gear isn't necessarily BIS but most of it is pretty decent, plus there's the benefit of making your own starter PvP set if you were interested in that.

LW is the best profession for all tanks afaik, since there's no regular stamina enchant on bracers except the old one from WotLK. JC, BS Enchanting Inscription and Mining provides 120additional stamina while LW provides 195(-40 if you already use 40stam enchant)

Edit: JC provides 123stam which obviously puts it slighly ahead of Enchanting, Mining etc. So if you really wanna get the most out of your char I guess JC is the second best profession.

He's going to want Dodge on his bracers, the only way he wouldn't is if he's already at the cap, and if he's interested in BS to make some of his tank set, I highly doubt he's anywhere close to that mark. EH just isn't as attractive as clearing CTC for a Paladin.

I have bs on my pally and it's not only been profitable but the extra sockets give a nice little boost also.
