MMO FPS is an interesting idea, but if executed badly it could end up being a disasterous flop.
Borderlands - But more MMO'y would be sweet.

Activision made a deal with Bungie and not Blizzard. So it's not about Titan. Also, Activision is only the publisher and has nothing to do with the development, which will remain completely under Bungie's roof. titanFocus.info -- news, predictions and place for discussion about Blizzard's upcoming next-gen MMO.
blizzard probably believes that Titan will have as many or more subs then WoW does, which just won't happen, there won't ever be another mmo who has such a high population ever again, and even now wow's subs are dropping because now, there are actually other options for other mmos to play which are decent, if not out right now soon to be released, blizzard should have used the few years head start to revolutionize the mmo genre instead, they just made it go stale and now look what is happening, anyway got a feeling titan won't be too amazing.
Unfortunately, until the people at Blizzard take time to quit explaining why they are right and anyone who disagrees is wrong, they are not going to even hear everyone speaking out desperately trying to warn them the ship is sinking.the problems driving players from WoW aren't content or the age of the game, the problem is how the game experience and design philosophy are being undermined by Blizzard's hubris and greed.
I can't see Blizzard moving away from the successful character view they use now in WoW and Diablo 3 etc. I can't see them going FPS.
For me if they make an updated MMO with very nice graphics and all the things they've learnt from WoW and put us into a new world/universe then that will be good enough for me.
I thought we had a Titan sticky here somewhere but I can't seem to find it.
Anyway, Titan is indeed an intriguing project.
Firstly, because it follows in the footsteps on the most successful video game ever.
Secondly because the industry has progressed a lot since WoW and it'll be interesting to see how Blizzard, an otherwise somewhat conservative company, reacts to these changes.
Obviously there has been FPS games before Halo, but never has there been an FPS game with such an in-depth story and amazing sceneries and skyboxes.
Also redefining a WHOLE genre is a pretty big deal. Halo is the best all round FPS game ever in mine and many others opinions.
Plus I can't really find a developer that has contributed to the FPS genre in the last 10 years as much as Bungie has.
