Thumbs down Down with casual the hate!

EVERYDAY when I log onto either MMO'Champ, or even worse - the official US/EU forums, I see constant, and I mean CONSTANT snide, provactive, baseless hate against a group of people Elitists label as "Casual" - as if putting your personal life above WoW is a bad thing!
All the time I see this -

*Casuals only care about gear (FREE EPIX) - Bad generalization. Maybe some do. Maybe they don't. In fact, you see a lot more hardcore players considered with the purplez than casual players.
*Casuals DON'T Care about gear (Can't be bothered to correctly/Gem/Enchant/PvE>PvP gear up ect) - Again nothing but a Generalization. Nothing more.
*Casuals are the only ones who want Pandaren because they are "Childish" (Somehow, being casual = Child-like here) - Again lies, people have wanted to Pandaren since Vanilla/BC.
*Casuals made everything "Easy". - How? I think you'll find Blizzard, if it's true - made stuff "easy".
*Casuals Ruined the game. - A lot of people still enjoy it. Don't like it? Move on. And what basis do you have to blame casuals for your dislike of the game?
*Casuals are just "Bad" (Lamest most untrue insult ever) - Nope. Skilled Casual players exist, who know about rotations/Gear/Stats/Boss mechanics ect ect
*I quit because of the Casuals! (Casuals don't actually care) - Seen this today. Wut.
*Casuals whine about content being too hard. - Hardly ever. Check the forums.
*Casuals don't raid! - Yes they do.
*Casuals didn't play Vanilla! - Yes, they did.

From my experience, as both a Casual, and once hardcore player, ALL of the above are just generalizations - and simply labelled to any guild or player who considers themselves "Casual" - by disgruntled elitist players.

Truly, there are many different types of Casual & Hardcore player. Some fit the above descriptions, some none at all. You get bad Casuals. You get bad hardcore - believe it or not, you do. I have met many, many, Casual players who are nothing like a lot of the elitist community make them out to be, mainly because the're ignorant and no nothing about them!

So basically, all I'm saying is, enough with the childish, snide and unwarranted attack on a very diverse range of players, the life-living Casual. I have had the best time of my WoW time with Casuals - they played for fun, but WoW has never, and I mean never, even in the days of Vanilla, been out of the reach of Casual players who are truly not there to solely mess up the game for others or can't be asked to read 10 mins of tactics. Stats were never hard, Specs were never hard, Boss tactics again, NOT hard, and by hard I mean - it's not rocket science no matter how long you play for! Never was! ;3 if you think that, you have a skewed view of what "Hard" is. Hard in Game terms? Give me a break. DOOM on nightmare is, and forever was, harder. Haha.

    Peace

You're 100% correct. There's nothing to say against, everytime someone brings these arguments to the discussion the IQ sinks by 100.

I'm a casual player in the way that I don't make this game my life, but when I play and in the areas I play in, I never fall behind. I love class mechanics and I love performing well for my own satisfaction.

I agree with you. However, it's only the minority that blame everything on casuals.

I think a lot of people assume because they are casual they are automatically a bad player, maybe because they don't think they put the time in or the effort outside of WoW to theorycraft etc. But there is a massive difference between a casual player and a bad player.

I've met some really good social players, both PvP wise and just generally through dungeons and the world itself.

Your generalizations of generalizations just fail. Everybody complains about everyone else - it's a fact of the game and life in general. If you need to point the finger at someone, whether they are "casual" or not, you're just as bad as the other side complaining. Take a deep breath, move passed the posts that complain, and enjoy the game regardless...

but at the same time there are people calling themselves casuals not for not playing as much as they would like to (even though they play kinda 24/7), but for being too retarded to read a fking guide, therefor failing royally and because of that spamming the forums with their dumb "giev teh 1337 dps"-threads.

    tl;dr
    casual != bad/retarded
casual = not much time to play

yeah the term "casual" gets old, really fast. but people will NEVER stop using it... tis a sad sad thing, but alas, haters will be haters =(.

Define skilled please? What makes you a skilled player? What makes anyone a skilled player? who know about rotations/Gear/Stats/Boss mechanics? Knowing that makes you skilled? Thats just general things wich you should already know, just bassic things. Nothing to do with overall skill of a player imo

I think it's all about how a player executes boss fights, how they find their own flaws on each boss attempt, meaning finding ways to do more dps, healing or tank better. A player who never says " I couldnt have done anything diffrent when obviously it was their fault " Or players saying "It's impossible" i mean if other players can do better then you, why can't you do it. A player who strive to be the best all the time.

Skilled players they always want to improve their gameplay on each boss. When People wipe, alot of players just go oh we wiped, run back in lets go again. Skilled players they start to think right away after the wipe thinking to themself " what could i have done diffrent, why did i only pull 30k on that fight, how can i increase my dps, how can i move less during this boss, how can i make this fight easier for my teammates. Beeing able to see the encounter, visualize what your doing on the next try. That is what makes some guild progress 3x times faster with the same ammount of raiding hours.

My point is that alot of people im not saying casuals, runs around thinking they are skilled. 95% of the time when people claim to be skilled they are either good or just decent.

The whole casual/hardcore thing is retarded. Sometimes I'm super casual, other times hardcore. Not that it means anything, because everyone's definition of "casual" and "hardcore" will differ.

People need to learn the difference between "casual" and "bad".

I was technically casual during T11, only raiding 3 nights a week for 3 hours each, and still got 9/13 heroics.

Words that lots of people don't seem to know the definition of:
"Troll", "Rehash", "Casual", "Dead", "Dying", "Exploit".
