If i buy burning crusade

I know as of patch 4.2? that if you register/buy WoW vanilla you get burning crusade for free.

But what if i buy a burning crusade cd key, do i automatically get vanilla?

BC cdkeys are useless now. They literally have no use. You would be paying for nothing.

As you're asking about cd-keys and not about buying the box - are you buying from a cdkey site? If so, and they're still selling tbc keys... find a different site. If you're buying it for the box that's one thing, but if you're just buying a cd key it's useless. The cd key site that I use (legitimate before anyone asks - you can just buy keys and game cards online on some reliable sites without having to purchase the box or buy from blizzard) removed TBC keys when they bundled it in with vanilla.
