Heya,
Some of u know a good combo in 2v2 for ret pally?
Another DPS I'm guessing, don't ret pallies have pretty decent off heals? And someone who can slow since Pallies lack that.
Warrior?
Sorry I can't be more helpful, just thought I'd try
I run frost mage/ret, works pretty well (2k currently). The mage provides good burst and allows you to stay on top of your target. You've also got a nice toolbox to assist the mage if they're being trained (I love HoP )
2v2, good and Ret in one sentence... Somewhere out there this caused a black hole of some sort which sucked a house or two into the nothing.
DK, Feral, Enh Shammy, a very geared Rogue maybe, Mage is doable: only way it'll even work is finding another DPS class that can make up for all your fails as a Paladin, which in 2v2 is plenty.
rogue/mage/feral would probably be the best, but most are viable. warrior is not the best
u can go with pretty much any of the melee classes(warrior less so) + hunter and mage.
Ret hunter is 59-1 r1 2's on nightfall, 2400.
You guys. Warrior/Ret works very well too,if you're up to task. Ret/Insert any Melee and Ret/Mage or Ele Sham or Hunter. Ret works fine in dualdps comps because off their utility skills and offheals. You can try some Ret/RSham or DPriest too but get ready for long games.
ret/unholy dk..... too dang overpowered they're just healer killers and very resistant to ccs (unholy frenzy, freedom, sac, etc) good cc and good necrotics and decent burst.
UH dk (snares, necrotic strike, you should try to keep him alive)
Rogue (snares, the damage you're going to deal is just fucking ridiculous)
Enhance or Feral works too. (maybe hunter, not sure).
Wouldn't go with Warrior if I were you.
Done SP + Ret to 2.3 some time ago. Decent enough if both are capable. Outlives most double dps easy enough and can with some patience take care of most healer/dps.
Manaburn is key vs many traditionally hard combos.
So, when I am playing 2s to cap points or something if we run into a ret team it is usually just focus the ret down so he can't offheal. I am guessing once you get into higher ratings that is pretty much the defacto strategy against you. (never played 2s past 1900s) I always wondered what kept a ret from rolling with another ret, or another strong off heal dps spec like a shadow priest.
I've tried war/ret, and it's surprisingly playable! The damage is reasonable, but the best part is that you practically can't die against healer/DPS.
Ret rogue teams usually waste the hell out of me. That usually is because the rogue is in full on peel mode though. I could see ret/hunter working well too, but the hunter doesn't really tools to peel for the ret like a rogue does. I would think that ret/sp would work because you wouldn't need a snare as much because the SP is putting out pretty decent ranged damage and if either of you gets focused the other can OH while you pound them without moving much.
ret/rogue or ret/mage are probably best combos
ret/feral a close second/third
due to majority of 2s teams above 1750 being warlock/shaman or feral/priest, I'd go with ret/rogue as best, as although against feral teams mage is probably better, due to the dispels from priest if he's not CCd, the mage is fairly nullified, whereas a rogue can just got to town. Also against a lock/shaman team the rogue is gona be so much better, especially in LoS matches.
