What effects performance more in skyrim?

I've been toying around with mods in skyrim, and have just recently found all the mods that add hundreds of npcs to the wild all fighting it out. What I am wondering is whether or not this will rely more on my cpu or my gpu. I would assume the cpu would be the most taxed, but I am just wondering.

You're talking about the wars or whatever. I wasn't able to float it with a 2300, but you might have more luck with a 2500k.

Ok, so my GPU-CPU combo should handle it well enough? What I'm really wondering is if I need to turn my graphics settings down from ultra if I get the Wars in Skyrim mod.

More to the point even, it's as alright as anyone is going to get really. There isn't much within the realm of reason to outperform a 2500k in skyrim's terms. If yours at 4.5ghz can't handle it, nothing in a reasonable budget can or will.
