By breaking any semblance of balance it had with saying that "we balance around 3v3". And then it turns out 3v3 is even less balanced than before.

In WotLK S6-8 2v2 was pretty well balanced. Hell, even 1v1 didn't have the hard counters like today. WotLK did A LOT of things right. From PvP balance to arena rewards to raids. There's a reason they saw such a huge jump in subs then and a loss of subs in Cataclysm.

All I know is that they need to make some changes. Not sure what exactly.

The whole rating system in general needs major reworking.

Rating degradation is a good idea. People just need to play most weeks instead of camping 2400 from week 1. Also this season with a lot of glad carries + MMR resets a lot of good players are having difficulty breaking 2200 (by good I mean duelist/barely glads who will smash most 2k teams). In MoP this will probably change, because all the shit players who bought high ratings will get smashed by good teams with low MMR to level it out.
    this game sucks

rated bg's should be random and cross-server composition, instead of over-sized arena teams. Only issue would be afk'ers, but since rating would be involved, people should be active in removing the afk. Restrict party size to 5 for q'ing as group. Allow role selection at q time, similar to lfd, force spec onto player (q as healer, you go in spec'd as healer), and do not allow spec change once inside bg. Would need some more details, but this should boost number of people doing rated and hopefully reduce afk'ers.

Random Rated BG are a massivle bad idea, considering that in current RBG 1 person screwing up with bad timing can lose u the whole match. Can you imange doing something that heavy in co-ordantion with random people? It would end up being did we 5 who queued get another 5 decent who queue and end up facerolling the side with 10ppl all solo queued, and for that reason would end up with no one signing. LFR doesnt need much co-ords before its set mechs, but that warrior that just charged you can do meny diffrent things and wether or not you get face melted can decided the outcome of the game.

Yes it "might" work if it was a diffrance signup to rated BG, but then if so theres no point to rating. No rating isnt much diffrnace that current BG except maybe a min resilance to enter?

From what people was saying up i fully understand, me and my partner (Arms/Feral) have been boucing around the 1500 marks for ages, dont get me wrong were not great at pvp as we focus on raiding but every time we go up a bracket we go from faceroll teams into OMFGWTF just hit us teams. Thats a result of exalty what people where saying above :/

Maybe it is because people just enjoy RBG pvp more than arenas.
If the only reason you're doing arenas is for gear... then you aren't really doing them because you like arenas.

2v2 was never balanced by any remotely close measure ever in the history of WoW
That is why they gave up, removed the rewards, and focused on 3v3.

    aye that would be good

The "RBG killed Arenas" talk is bullshit.
No serious Arena player will do RBG just because he can get higher rating or faster weapons.
Serious Arena players are in it for the challenge and to become better. Rating and weapons is something you pick up on your way up, in fact I don't even think about getting gear when I do arena. My cap is something like 2200+ and I get one piece every week until gear-capped. It's all fine.

Arena is not about gear (unless you count in some crazy-overpowered PvE stuff like Legendaries or Cunning/Vial). At some point, at some rating (2k+), everyone suddenly is gear-capped anyway. It's all about outplaying the opponents. And that's why you play.

If you only visit Arena for gear, you are no true PvPer, or you just PvP for fun, or you mostly play Random BGs and you still want the best PvP items. Which is fine as well. But please don't assume that everyone is like that. Arena is the definition of competition in WoW, moreso than anything else in the game.
