CPU running at a constant 100% after crash with Graphics card.

    Hello everyone!

My computer crashed roughly a month ago with the graphics card completly dying. Stupid as i was, i tried to restart it a few times to see if it didn't work to get anywhere at all. 2 times tops. Now when i finally got a new Graphics card (GTS 8800 to GTX 460), My computer first off didn't start. I booted it in Safe Mode and saw that i had trouble reading an AVG file (My AntiVirus program), so i uninstalled it when i got in Safe Mode. Now the computer starts (Although it takes an awful long time) and i can get into the "normal" version of Windows 7. There is something chugging away all the CPU power though, so it's either extremly slow, or freezes from time to time. I have been removing old versions of the Graphic Card Driver aswell as installing new for the new card, without result.

I have also (done my best atleast) removed AVG from the computer. There should not be any more files left unless they are hiding extremly well.

What i am trying right now, is installing Avast! Internet Security (Trial version) and gonna have it to scan through my computer to ensure there's no viruses or trojans running that is taking the CPU power.

Also worth mentioning is that under Task Manager, there's nothing above 30 in CPU right now, but at the bottom line it says 100% CPU-usage. And i am running as Admin to see full list of processes running.

    Thanks in advance!

With some more investigation i found out that: After i went into the diagnostic tool (dxdiag) it says: Processor: Missing. Avast! didn't give me any sign of infektions whatsoever.

Solved. Solution: The motherboard i have (Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R) can't handle more than 4GB DDR3 RAM-memory with the current BIOS version. My brother said that there might be a BIOS update available which fixes this "problem".

if the bios update does not work.
what your describing in this situation seems like there is a virus or malware. get and run bitdefender, or anything with a current definitions, the free versions ive been told there definitions are slow to update, and if not continue with your software troubleshooting.
