    Avoiding tangled headset cords

So recently I bought a pair of Sennheiser headphones, PC163D more specifically. I ran into a tangling problem with the last headset I had and it pretty much messed up the wiring and broke the sound/microphone completely because it would constantly get tangled. Now these ones are much more expensive than the last, $259 to be specific. So I wanna avoid any tangling problems, is there any way to avoid tangled cord?

I've tried searching on youtube/google for guides on how to prevent tangles from happening but there's nothing. They're all guides/videos for iPod headphones and not actual gaming headsets.

Sorry to be blunt but isn't "wire"+"less" headset very much answer for itself?

I've seen quite a few people with headsets that have had the headset for quite some time and there's been no tangling what so ever in them, they're not wireless either. I'm pretty confident that there is a method to prevent this so I'm asking here in hopes there is people with a method.

I just take a cable tie (lets face it, anybody building their own PC has a ton of these lying around) and coil up the cable until it is just long enough to reach from the audio ports on the computer to my head. Wrap the tie around the cable coil, pull it tight and you have a headset cable that can't get tangled up in your chair castors.

I've had my AKG K242 HD's for more than a year now and have had no issue with the cord at all (and it's usually dragged around the floor). My Grado's are the same, but since the drivers can be turned indefinitely I've had the cord be twisted on occasion. A quality cord will not tangle, unless you force it or treat it horribly.

^ Using a cable tie is not a bad suggestion though.

Best answer you'll get tbh if you're using a standard headset.
I personally use a the front audio panel, with a pair of Moray+, the cable's only 1.3m long, so there's pretty much no chance of tangling.

I used to tape my previous headset's cord into back of the table so that there was just enough available. Cable tied the rest near to the plugs.

Only problem with that is potential for lost connection, amongst other issues with the connection and distortion in the air.

Wireless is not something I like. Every single thing for my computer is wired.

What do I do? Well first of all my headphones have one of the coiled (I think that's the right term) cables and when I don't have them on I keep them like this so the cable is forced to not be able to tangle up.

    Please forgive the mess....

Oh what the hell. imgur.com is suddenly not available. -.-

well, until I can put the picture up, imagine that my headphones are on my desk and the cable goes all the way over to my computer, and there's no point really where the cable overlaps itself. Find a distance like that and always keep your headphones at that distance, it helps.

like people say , a good cord will not tangle, if you dont have a good cord you shouldnt worry though, mine's tied because it's basically about 30 centimeters from my desk DAC to my headphones and the rest is tied with a reusable cable tie ( aka the thing that comes on so many laptop chargers.)
