    Heroic Spine 10 help (me, tank 3rd highest tendon dmg?) !!

    Hey all, please no trolling ^^.

    Recently my guild have been progressing heroics, after i'd say 7 weeks (?) we are 6/8, the first few weeks i started in 370ilvl as MT, my armory is below:

    My guild is very social and yes not expecting to get far in heroic raids but DS is severely nerfed and pathetically easy, my guild wanted to do it and i've been with the guild helping tact wise ever since, after 3 pulls on warmaster we downed it and are now trying Spine

    12/08/12 - First night on Spine

    --NOTICE--
    Our group was crap tonight, many didnt show..

    Comp was as follows:

    Tanks: Prot pally (ooze) blood dk me (amalg)
    Healers: Resto shammy (dispels) resto druid / priest
    Dps: Sub rogue, Surv hunter, Arcane mage, feral druid, Spriest


    SETUP
    We had our prot pally (ooze tank) to stack near tendon plate, everyone ranged based also stacked, me tanking the amalg was just below, and at 10% / 2nd grip i would collect oozes / nuke.

    ok we had 5 instant wipes due to dispel, our healer was lagging and resolved the problem, we then had 0 wipes to dispelling.
    The amalg died pretty quick, first grip around 60% and 2nd around 10% or less, i collected the bloods after 2nd grip and got around 2 pulses of aoe before tendon came up.

    Problems
    first: looking at recount many people took, for example our feral druid took 512k from corrupted bloods, 65% was melee and the 35% was burst effect, did our pally just fail to pickup the oozes quickly?

    Second: we didn't get the first tendon down, we had a mage pulling less than 700k every wipe on tendon, as arcane, and i came 3rd in dmg to tendons on our last wipe, first was a sub rogue (who has not raided heroic at all! filled in spot) on 1250k dmg, Surv hunter on around 1230k dmg (estimated the 10k's from pet) and then me on 1210k dmg. Spriest was around 937k (give or take). I know our groups dmg sucks, and people aren't right specs or such but tbh with 30% nerf it shouldn't be needed, how can the Spriest perform better on tendons? i dont play priest but isnt Spriest burst insane right about now?

    What should the figures be roughly? like Spriest at bottom of the pack, or doing more than 1m on first tendon? Surv dmg on first tendon etc? i know with the proper group we will kill it but i'm still curious.
    If i didnt answer something you need to know, please ask.
    sorry i dont have WoL if we attempt tomorrow ill get some logs, again i know we aren't playing the best specs possible or class stacking etc, but for a tank to be 3rd is worrying

    Spriest/arcane mage/sub rogue/ret paladin should ALWAYS be at the top of recount having some of the best burst in the same. As for the feral druid taking that much damage from bloods, that sounds like he is either swiping and pulling aggro or the Paladin tank failing and not picking up the bloods in time. When my raid team killed Heroic spine our feral tank came 4th on damage done to the tendons, so its not too bad that your doing that much to tendons, but if your that far ahead of a spriest and arcane mage, you need to figure out what they are doing wrong and fix it asap or you will have a rough few weeks on Heroic spine.

    ye if ur mage cant make more than 700k damage, he cant pop a CD macro and go 1111111....you're probably playing with a dead badger or something look into getting more humans into your raid.

    but really it sounds like they need to watch a video or something? i dont know how they cant pop a cd macro and burst for 23? seconds so ye...hard to say whats wrong other than people are brain dead tbh.

    yeah i know about the mage, the mage, rogue, and pally tank are subs, im just worried about the dmg tbh, from the Spriest, how should he burst the tendon?, now being told hes one of the top classes with rets etc, i really would appreciate it if an experienced priest could shred some light on the opening on the tendon

    So, honestly its hard to tell what he's doing vs what he should be doing without logs. (i'm gonna guess Tescoo is your shadow priest from the guild armory. He's in disc right now so i cant even see gear)

    As for what he should be doing, it utilizes the 4-pc t13 shadow set. (and some nice hefty mastery reforges), (mastery affects how much more dmg shadow orbs do, so when every attack on the tendon uses them, the effect of it goes way up, if I run solid mastery reforces ive had my gear hit like 22 Mastery, Generally I run around 18 as its easier to do as all i have to do is swap out 3 pieces of gear.

    Allows you 3 shadow orbs every time the shadowfiend swings. (15 seconds uptime, on approx 90 second cooldown with t-13h gear crit levels) Meaning its up for the first pull of every tendon.

    Standard rotation for tendons will be having 5 stacks of archangel ready for the pull (cast 2 clipped mindflays on the amalgamation before it blows up to ensure the buff doesn't fall off.) then pop archangel, cast one mindblast at the tendon, release your shadowfiend, spam mind spike 3-4 times, one mindflay clipped as soon as mindblast is off cd, cast said MB (will be instant cast), 3-4 more mind spikes, mindflay clipped with instant cast MB, then spike until the tendon re-seats.

    Second lift of every tendon, this cooldown wont be active, so do the standard Vampiric Touch, Shadow Word: Pain, Devouring Plague, Mind Blast, Mind Flay, then start throwing in Shadow Word: Death once its below 25%. (important thing here is to ensure you have empowered shadow up before the thing blows, (meaning keep a few shadow orbs to be used right before, (either as a mind blast as soon as the tendon pops, or right prior to, on the amalgamation once its ready to blow (the buff might fall off before it dies here and uptime wont be as good this way, but you'll get DoT's up sooner)

    Our mage runs arcane on this fight, and the rogues go sub, so the dmg they do is absolutely insane.

    Also, i have a mage which ive put in a few attempts with on spine (was 394 at the time)
    Was doing approx 3M tendon dmg on 3 tendon pulls (first one down, second one got one pull) We were dying to healing mostly. So, by those numbers I'd say prob 5.5M from a mage on this fight wouldn't be too much to ask, especially if they're geared. iirc, our mage uses the same gear mostly in fire as spine-arcane spec. So crit > haste> mastery. I was gearing Haste > crit > mastery on my set, and it seemed to work well.

    Also, pretty sure this is common knowledge, but if you are having issues with damage, you absolutely NEED to make sure everyone in your group is using the Valor Trinket (usually best to replace the random dmg proc trinket, so get rid of cunning, vial, whatever the other one is)
    It will be up for every pull if done properly, we usually use Potions on the first pull of the 2nd tendon, and lust on one of the last tendon's pulls.

    Hey cheers for the reply mate, detailed information i will be sure to pass it on, i havent got a shadow priest, so im clueless but i knew the burst was great providing the Spriest had the 4 set, Tesco however is just a healer, i can't pass on the name of the Spriest, without his permission however i will ask him if it's ok, once again, cheers for the detailed response, if our run tomorrow happens (late notice) i will post logs.
