    Thinking of doing boot camp

This is my last year of high school, and I'm pondering about whether to start with university right away or join boot camp. I'm kind of a pussy right now (see my avatar) and feel I need to toughen up, especially considering that I'm going to start my own company after university, if I don't change my mind out of sudden. Boot camp is also a once-in-a-lifetime thingy, so I'd love to do it. Basically, boot camp might strengthen my personality, I get to experience something I've never experienced before and besides, I'll get fucking buff. Or something.

So what is the problem? The problem is that Swedish boot camp lasts 3 flippin' months, and it starts in October. Beginning in June, I have nothing to do for approximately 4 months. After boot camp I have nothing to do for almost a half year. Either I can do jackshit, or I can work at a job that I barely can stand. I worked there as a summer occupation. It sucked ass. It is literally the first time in my entire life that I almost fell asleep while doing something. It was about filling forms for the Swedish tax agency. I'd rather gurgle balls in a street corner for almost a year than to reexperience that... thing.

I know it's not all that black and white when it comes to stuff to do, I know I could be doing other stuff, problem is that I'm extremely theoretical, I know a lot but when it comes to working I'm pretty much useless for anything besides, well, filling in forms for the Swedish tax agency. And yes, I need a job. I get no money once I quit high school, and I have costs that I need to cover, such as food, clothing etc.

Obligatory I know MMO-Champ shouldn't decide for me I am an individual and I have to make my own choices etc etc, but I could really use some help with suggestions because I'm definitely leaning towards boot camp, I just have no idea what to do during the incredibly long interval.

What kind of bootcamp? What job in the military are you after?

Is this bootcamp a military thing or is it some sort of confidence building camp where you do outdoor activitys?

The military will toughen you up, and there's a commitment to it.

Some Confidence Building Boot Camp will not toughen you up. You'll do things. You'll get sore. You'll go home telling yourself you've changed until you slip into your old habits.

Military boot camp, I'm not looking for a job within the military, I just want to do the recruit training and then go to university.

That is a real waste of time that wont teach you much beyond how to do laundry better than your mother and how to march. Do they not have a cadet force at your university? That would be more beneficial without all the bullshit.

It'd be a massive waste of yours and the Military's time and money. If you want the experience, pay someone big and mean to shout at you, throw your stuff out the window every morning at 6am, run up hills with everything you own on your back and roll around in the mud. Oh, and go everywhere wet and hungry.

Save the spot in military training for someone that wants to do the job afterwards.

I don't think we have that in Sweden, actually.
