    Questions about new computer build

I'm building a new computer, and I'm not that tech savvy. I would like opinions on current parts because it's been a while since I've built one on my own.
I don't need anything too powerful atm so I'm leaving some room for later addition. If anyone thinks a different part would be better or just as good but cheaper(or whatever) I am open to recommendations.

Case - NZXT Phantom Enthusiast Full Tower ATX Chassis
I'm sure I could fit everything in a mid sized tower but I may need space later.

Motherboard- ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

CPU- Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I73770K

Heatsink- CORSAIR Hydro Series H80 (CWCH80) High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

    RAM- G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL10S-8GBXL
Only getting 2 sticks for now.

PSU- ENERMAX Platimax EPM850EWT 850W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Power Supply
I think I may be overdoing the PSU a little bit.

GPU- EVGA 04G-P4-3673-KR GeForce GTX 670 FTW+ 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

HDD- Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

SSD- SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC128B/WW 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Okay, not so much questions but more like asking for opinions on the build...

You said you dont need anything too powerful, but then u select the 3770k and the ASUS SAbertooth mobo.

if your intentions are just gaming you can save some cash by getting a 3570k.

You can also save more money and get the Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 mobo.

GPU- You wont need 4gig VRAM unless you run some crazy resolution, even then you would be better off getting something like the 7970GHz edition.

HDD- I cant recommend the seagate HD instead get the WD caviar black. IF you are just using it for storage you can get the Caviar Blue

PS- Not sure about that one, it is definitely too much for a single card system, go with something more along the lines of this Seasonic Its fully modualr so your system will look cleaner with less cables and is made by the best PS manufacturer there is.

SSD- the one you have is fine but a lot of people have been suggesting to get the 840 series over the 830, such as this Samsung 120g SSD

    Pretty much what Jiambi said.

PSU is too much but if you plan on going SLI it is not bad.

HDD go with WD black if you can afford or Blue if you want to save a bit

CPU unless you are doing any kind of video compression or other CPU intensive work there is just no good reason to go I7 so stick with the i5 3570k.

GPU again a bit aggressive for what games require. Rarely will the amount of VRAM inhibit anything. Hell most games likely don't benefit greatly from 2gb. So I would suggest either the 7970 or the 670 2gb

The one thing I would say stick with the 830 series unless you can find a deal on the 840. Yes the 840 is faster but not likely noticeable outside of benchmarks.

My intentions for getting some of the things that seem like a bit much is that I would like to be able to expand later without replacing the more expensive things. For example I do intend to add a second GPU later(though I do agree I went overboard with the selected one) when I can make use of it.
I did link the wrong PSU. That was the one I intended to get later once I added more to the mobo. I'll probably try out that PSU though since you seem happy with the brand.

Thank you guys for the suggestions. I have made a couple of changes and appreciate you taking time out of your day to assist me in building a better comp.

ok, well since you plan on SLI in the future.I wouldn't waste money on a smaller PSU to just replace it in the nearish future. Happy black friday sales on newegg. I JUST came across this Seasonic Its the same version as mine, just has more watts. I highly suggest picking up this badboy. They also have a EVGA 670 on sale. BRB gonna go look it up for ya and link.

Got it, EVGA 670 2GB 359.99 price in cart

Thanks for the PSU. I think I'll go with that one than the one I had picked out. And that is the exact same GPU I ended up switching to! Thanks again.
