Umm, Thief 4 actually? I'm pretty sure I played 3 installments so far.^^
Isn't it Thief 4 ?
Anyway I've never heard of any of the Thief games before but this does look pretty good.
Thief 3? Isn't this Thief 4? Well not important, loved the first 2...didn't love the 3rd (deadly shadows) Thief and Thief 2 were some of the first games that literally made my heart beat every time I heard a guard yell "I know you're there somewhere!" Such atmosphere, which was lost for me in the 3rd.
My feeling is, it wont be anywhere as atmospheric as the first 2, they'll plug it as having amazing gfx which is what they do to most new releases these days, pity really.
Lots of typical buzzwords in the video, along with the usual "subtle" hints to the changes of gameplay.
"Play as you want".
Translated roughly to: "Action game fan? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D"
Modern gaming apologist: I once tasted diarrhea so shit is fine.
"People who alter or destroy works of art and our cultural heritage for profit or as an excercise of power, are barbarians" - George Lucas 1988
Errr, yes, I meant Thief 4. Herpa durr!
If the new Thief is as good as Deus Ex: Human Revolution, I'll be satisfied. If it couples that with Dishonored's even more enjoyable gameplay, I'll be a happy bunny.
Given the developers proven ability with DE:HR, I'm more concerned about the storyline in Thief. I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay of Thief 1 and 2, and even enjoyed Deadly Shadows for the most part, yet what kept me playing the third was the story started in Dark Project and Metal Age.
I'd love to see a free-roam city, with house guards that will summon city guards if necessary (for instance, when a body is found, city guards will investigate and assist guarding the building).
Thief should certainly be more about complete stealth. Even sapping a guard and removing their unconscious body should cause any nearby guards that are scripted to be familiar with their route to become suspicious.
Wasn't Thie4f (sic) announced like several years ago?
That's why you need me.... Need someone to punish you for your sins.
I still don't get why people hated 3.
Well, I'm glad they're continuing this series. I love stealth games. I hope they don't do stupid crap and make it console only or something. edit: seems to be PC and PS3.
Seems interesting, havent played a Thief game for ages. Preordered and then we'll see what happens later on~~
announcement trailer is here.
lol the comment posted made me chuckle..
"Leave no trace behnd."
*Blows up a guard and jumps out a window*
