Peripherals wish list - help with suggestions

After that debacle with my processor (which I happily fixed with the help of the MMOChamp-community - you peeps are awesome) the sun is up again and I am here for something far more cheerful. I've been trying to make a list for several peripherals for my PC (which will be delivered to me from the USA) but I can't seem to decide on the final version.

Here's what I got so far (btw, the budget isn't HUGE, just under 280 bucks so keep that in mind )

    Keyboard - http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-JQD-...ER+X4+Keyboard - 60 $

    Mouse - http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Abyssus-.../dp/B002XLR0JI - 35 $

    Internal SSD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820239045 - 130 $

    Headset - http://www.amazon.com/Razer-RZ04-007...se_s_cp_4_17KW - 35 $

Now, any suggestions that would replace / upgrade those components would be greatly appreciated. I was mostly using Amazon / Newegg for the purchases (in order to avoid additional cost due to shipping - free shipping was my goal... yeah, I blame the economy).

    Thanks in advance.

I'm in no way experienced in the actual peripherals, but this ssd will save you a few bucks for equal or better performance.

You could get a bit cheaper headphones/mic combo if you like. Apparently the Slyr is a decent headset at the price. ($80 is on Newegg)

If you bought headphones and a mic separately you can get better versions of both, although there are some good (and expensive) headsets.

A budget of ~$280 makes it hard to cramp in all the peripherals you have listed, at least if you want decent stuff. I've touched, smelled, used and ultimately replaced a ton of peripherals in the past five years and I can only say this as a general recommendation: get the god stuff directly and ignore the mediocre half-crap stuff in the mid-section. You will only find yourself in anger untangling that headset cord, coping with a mouse that jitters across your screen or having sore fingers from typing an entire essay on a membrane keyboard.

Make a list. Put the stuff that is important to you at the top. Get what you can afford at this point and slowly move down the list.

Anyway, here are some recommendations for you that completely (or at least somewhat) ignores the price-tag.

    1. Keyboard.
Membrane boards be gone. Get a mechanical or simply get a low-cost membrane board for $5-10. I honestly still can't understand why people spend $60-100 on a membrane board when you can find good, reliable mechanical boards for around $70 and up. At least do yourself a favor and try out a mechanical board before spending your money. They are fairly common today.

A good entry board that doesn't cost a fortune is the CM Storm line. They share a ton with the Filco OEMs (at least the tenkeyless boards do) which basically means that they use good parts, are well built and will last a good while (most likely longer than you).

    2. Mouse.
In short: get a good mouse. No jitter. No prediction. Adjustable to completely off acceleration. Reliable DPI settings. Good switches. Wired because latency. Zowie Gear AM or AM GS, Razer DeathAdder 3.5G, Logitech G400, Mionix Naos 3200, SteelSeries Sensei. My recommendation is the G400, regarded by many as the best mouse on the market.

    3. Headphones.
Order a pair of Takstar Hi2050 off Ebay for ~$40. They are a complete rip-off of the $300 audiophile-grade Beyer Dynamics DT880 headphones. In comparison they lack a little of the crispness and the clarity as the DT880 offers, but in the price range of ~$50 there is not much that compares.

If ordering off Ebay is of absolutely no interest I'd probably point towards a pair of Samson SR850 as a budget choice.

Get a Zalman ZM-MIC1 to go along with the above.

    TL;DR:
I wouldn't pick any of the peripherals you've picked out. My choices would be CM Storm TK (~$80), Logitech G400 (~$35), Takstar Hi2050 (~$40) and a Samsung 830 (~$110). Total around $280.

Thanks for the feedback. Will probably need to rethink my strategy
