Simple solution. Get better at the game.
Im sorry if u take this the wrong way.
But no. U dont need the gear to be able to do decent in any Dungeons at that lvl. 85+ is all about class knowledge, reforging and priorities.
You proberly lagged all of them.
Its the exact same in 5man HCs nowadays. watching a new dinged 15-30K DPS single target is just horrible and clueless players.
Now dont bring up that bullshit about being a casual player, who dont care about his prio list, reforging etc etc. If you dont, then enjoy the rage upon you, and ure grp kicks.
Ive seen so many posts about this kind of stuff so many times now, dont we all?
Alot of people say, who cares if some1 doesnt perform atall, you will get through the instance anyways. Well, i dont care. I dont wanna carry a clueless noob, who just cba. to take 3min to watch his prio list, stat prios and specs/Talents at his current Ilvl. Get rid of them, keep kicking them until they do so.
Its like the raging kids in LFR or Random BGs. Keep reporting them.
Lets make WoW a better place. Get rid of the noobs, and the raging kids!
TLFR; Enjoy ure re-Que, and l2p.
That hasn't been my experience at all. When I played games like SWTOR and FFXI people would just blindly point fingers and it was near impossible to get someone to admit they screwed up. Parsers don't do anything but report exactly what happens during an encounter. What players do with that information is on the player, not the tool.
i have been in dungeon groups were even in just LFR gear i do 10x the dps of some people. you can do good damage especially as a pally (high burst for short dungeon fights) without being amazingly geared
Whether the world's greatest gnats or the world's greatest heroes, you're still only mortal!
How I love people who do under 50k deeps in MSV LFR . If we que LFR with guildies we usually try to kick everyone doing under 50k DPS on any boss. (Even 50k is horrible tho.)
if you do less dps than a tank the problem is not the dps meter, it's you.
you are being carried so hard if you do less dps than a tank that it's not even funny and I would without a doubt kick anyone that doesn't out damage the tank.
If you were "Nearly" 90 and you got kicked for low dps then probably did very low dps.
I think it was good you were kicked from group because now you might actually learn how to play instead of just leeching off others.
I have an addon that averages the exact ilvl of people's gear. Obviously a 430 (say with BoE's in bags ) will never do better than a 522 raider.
Judging by that and the class/spec and even title they use, and coupling with performance (which yes, it does matter in dungeons if it means slowing the other 4 people a lot) I can tell whether it's an alt/bot/main/offspec or whatever and if it should stay in the group or not. I leveled alts enough to tell so.
Report meters are a good thing. If you're struggling to kill something you can analyse who's doing low dps, who isn't attacking the right targets, what's killing you, etc and find a solution to downing the boss (whether that be through adjusting strategies or kicking someone). In games where there aren't meters there is just a shit storm of blaming and yelling and bullshit without any proof.
Sorry they kicked you for most likely doing dps from two expansions ago, but I would've done the same(if things were dying incredibly slowly or we wiped somehow). I'll never understand how people do so poorly while actually playing, if they were afk and auto attacking then that dps would make sense... Most people who know what they're doing don't really feel like carrying people, it's not that enjoyable when it feels like you're the only one trying.
imo dont ban dps metres cus it wont help.
What they should really do is ban scrubs from playing this game.
That would be wonderful!
DPS meters are meerly a tool, you just got unlucky with who you were running with :/
It always amuses me to see those "Freshly dinged 90 should do AT LEAST X". Completely ignoring the fact that classes scale differently, can have wildly different gear after dinging, different buffs depending on group. Nah, screw that, it's some arbitrary number after burning all cooldowns on a single trash pack and using it as a measuring stick.
