Hate the idea of Shaman tanking?

I am neither for nor against it.

I do think, though, that they should first sort out the spec we already have.

Pretty much my opinion, would love to have it, but wouldn't care much, if they never introduce it

Shaman tanking should be 2h.

It would solve both the 2h enhance and tanking desires all in one fell swoop.

I do wonder sometimes, how many shamans actually left from the "golden age" of vanillia or from the "still viable for fun" tbc days. I dont really think so, that many shaman wants to play with 2h anymore or at all

Which is actually too bad, in this case. Shaman could have the strongest lore-wise argument for having four specs, in the application of the 4 elements.

... More tanking classes or specs does not solve the shortage of actual tanks. Both the introduction of DKs and Monks have already shown that.

But yeah, this is pretty much the case.
While I do think that having the option to tank on a given character is more likely to make someone tank, I don't think it's a very strong effect.
(Frankly it feels like the solution to the tank shortage might ultimately have to be expanding groups to be 6 person by adding a fourth DPSer. That would have an immediate and strong effect on the trinity ratios. :P )

In any case, my vote is for them adding a shaman tank spec and a warlock tank spec, because I love tanking and playing with tank mechanics. I've found my brewmaster to be surprisingly fun, and it gives me hope that Blizz can still design novel tanking experiences. I would be happy to have more tanks to level. )
