How often do you cast Symbiosis on someone and they have no idea what it is?

In random groups, raids and battlegrounds, there seems to be a very high chance that the person receiving symbiosis has absolutely no clue what symbiosis is, or why I'm infecting them with it, lol. Anyone else experience this? :-) I wonder if there is a better way for Blizzard to announce this on the UI.

Well I use a mod, so it sends a whisper to them when they get the buff.
Tells them what I'm getting and what they get, though even after being informed I doubt most people actually use it in randoms.
for organised things I think people pay more attention to what it will do for them.

When I play Arena, it's people I know. When I play RBGs, I ask who wants it, so someone will only get it if they're actually excited to use it. When I'm in random BGs, I assume everyone's fucking retarded and just give it to whoever gives me the most benefit.

I am using symbiosis only in dungeons and raids. I cast it prior on monk tank for geting both boost ( 25 reduction for monk and 10% dodoge for druid), second target on high magic fights is DK but in unholy they don't use mushrooms because high CD and refreshing weaker dots then with their proc trinkets.

I just have a /w macro'd to mine but that is a nice add on, ppl knowing what they are getting helps. For awhile I also had a brief explanation of how to use the spell for all the ppl that have asked me where to find it in their spell book.

Thats a great addon thanks Usually I play with Shaman and so I'm pretty use to having Lightning shield. To be fair I think Shaman get one of the nicer spells, Solar Beam and Prowl are awesome, especially in PvP.

I have a macro that whispers the target of my symb what they get and that they have it. I live when shamans tell me "Don't give me symb it's useless for me" because they get solar beam or prowl. I play resto, SWG is AMAZING.

I also hate the retarded DK's and tanks that think they "deserve" symb. It's my spell and unless the fight demands you have it i'm using it for myself.

As a DK tank, who is not retarded (self-diagnosis there), I will ask for symbiosis, but if you give it to someone else that's fine. It's your spell anyway. Not like you needed that stun removal. Or debuff removal. Or extra tank cooldown. Or whatever stupid thing ferals get.

Well tbh most if not all of the spells others get are useless. Hell, like at least half of the ones druids get is also useless.

I was in LFR once and i actually had a warrior ask me to cast it on him.
I also know a ret pally that verry happy to casts wraths at range

other then that i use it for personal gains, without caring about the other player

It's not quite that easy. Some of the classes that get "useless" spells give some of the better spells for the Druid, like Warlocks and Rogues for Balance.

The problem is some of the Symb spells are good in PvP and some are good in PvE, but you get the same spell no matter what situation you are in. I can see how Prowl isn't very good for a raiding Resto Shaman, but for PvP and especially World PvP it is amazing. Means me and my partner can stealth around together and also helps him a lot when he is being ganked. Plus people never expect a random resto shaman hiding stealthed in a bush, who reveals himself half way through the fight and changes the outcome :P

For resto, in at least 9 out of 10 cases, SWG from shamans is the best spell you can get, and symbiosis is practically useless for shamans in PvE
