It's a shame you left the group, OP. Being told to hurry up as a tank is a great opportunity to troll the hell out of the group your with. Stop after every pull, maybe skin something if you can, or DE on the spot, etc.

Aye what melo says you just have to have thick skin when working with randoms as a tank... and a sense of humour.
In cata I liked the challenge of doing the ZA timed runs in PuG groups and I would happily help those who wanted to go for it and asked.
The moment 1 of them started spamming "go go" "go ffs" or any other variant I just engaged my walk key and pretended to roll play that we was sight seeing the lovely troll architecture.

I don't get the idea that tanks are somehow just slow for no reason.
Slow tanks can be new tanks, newly dinged tanks, tanks with an in-experienced or undergeared healer, waiting for CDs or just trolling the group because they raged at them for some reason. Tanks don't join actively wanting things to take longer than they need to either.
In none of those scenarios is raging, screaming or otherwise shit talking going to make things better.
Having a tank is better than having no tank or a huge queue. Even a relatively slow tank is going to get it done quicker than a fast tank + a long queue. All the nerd ragers are doing is putting people off tanking.
The expectation that all tanks are going to be heroic geared mains who learned all the pulls on the ptr needs to die.

Because clearly heroics give tanks MADNESS amount of vengeance... Please leave this tank thread as you clearly don't know what is is about.
There is not a single reason a tank should be first in heroics (ouside of maybe 1-2 specific rooms, like Krastinovian room, or jade temple 3rd boss room)
Yeah I can't stand tanking myself either, while I am decent at it. It's to stressful, especially with the constant "go go go go! mentality". If it's not that, then people complain you are moving to quickly..
Also I will undoubtedly get pissed off because the healer is crap, usually to myself though. I prefer healing, so that I can do my thing and ignore the others :P
I have moved on to DPS and healing from being a pure tank since Vanilla. LFR allowed me to do this. Why? Because I got sick and tired of assholes, shit DPS, slow healers, arrogant DPS, presumptuous DPS, trolls, and idiots.
With DPS or heal, I can pretty much just chill and do my job without having to be at the behest of some jagoff with an axe to grind or no brain activity to speak of.
Didn't you know that when you role a tank or healer that the group just expects you to be a master at the class right off the bat? They don't care if its your first time playing that class, or if its even your first time playing the game -- you are to know the ins and outs of your class right off the bat and have watched players complete dungeons on YouTube until you have visually mastered how to do every single pull and boss.
If you're an experienced player and want a quick run -- go with people you know. Expecting players in PUG's to be amazing in their respected roles is stupid -- god forbid someone is actually running these dungeons to learn how to play, right?
I love a fast tank as much as the next person, hell when I tank I pull absolutely everything at the speed of light untill a healer says otherwise.
The problem is, when the healer cant keep up and you wipe, oh guess whos fault it is.
Every tank is different, every tank knows what they can and cannot handle. Its much quicker to safely tank at a reasonable pace then to stretch your own limit and spend 5 minutes running back.
As soon as I hear GOGOGOGO or Pull quicker, I troll you. I will start walking and RPing. Everyone loves a good tour guide during dungeons. To your left, a rock.
Been tanking since WOTLK and chain pull every heroic. Yet still isn't fast enough for some DPS that leap frog ahead not attacking the group I'm on. SMH....
Play a class that has heavy self heal, like dk or pally. 9/10 times you can do the leveling dungeons without a healer.
pretty much like everyone has said, the ignore list is there to be used.
in the Dungeon Finder / LRF world where you will literally never see that person again, there's no reason not to put an irritating person on ignore, if only for the duration of the run.
Don't feel bad about leaving either, if the healer is competent (though undeniably a dick) then even mid-boss odds are no one died, heck, they probably didn't even wait for a new tank to turn up before pulling the next group of mobs.
(this becomes significantly less so around the 40+ level)
I leveled both a DK and pally this expansion and I didn't have any problems like that. Especially on the DK I didn't care what the healer was doing. There is plenty of abuse and immaturity in LFD, but most of it has little to do with actual roles and a lot with premade drama queen parties, at least in my experience. If anything tanks are frequent big ego shit starters themselves with healers close second.
It's pretty easy... the best thing you could have as a new tank is a supportive healer. Run with a buddy and just get a feel for the class. Then you can learn tank swapping, cooldown popping, and positioning in LFR. I'd say the most intimidating part of tanking is keeping threat... which is pretty easy to do if you know your buttons (the thing you learn while leveling!)
The amount of people I see with the "You pull it, you tank it" mentality is astounding. Whenever I play with others I strive to do my best regardless of what others do. When I am tanking that means I do whatever I can to keep the flow of the pulls up so that there is no need to ninjapull, and if someone does then I just pick up those mobs as well, like any good player would do. There are already a great deal of douchebags in this game, we don't have to add to that amount.
Sheesh.
I've never had that happen to me in WoW (being told I was going too fast) but when I was leveling my assassin in SWTOR I had two separate people go "slow down!" when nobody was dying, nobody was low on resources, etc etc. It honestly weirded me out... you'd think that "too fast" would be when people's lives are threatened due to massive chain pulling.
One could argue that just validates their behavior and is just as bad as being a dick back to them.
I start by asking politely for them to stop. Nineteen times out of twenty they apologize and stop.

Depends. If people pull mobs by accident, I figure shit happens, I pick up the mob and we all move on. If they're constantly pulling mobs ahead of the tank and ignoring pleas to stop, I figure let nature take its course. Especially if they're being a jerk about it.
I just wish dungeon mobs were more dangerous and they died a lot faster.
