Next week I want to order a new video card. I'll have about $200 USD saved up.
My current machine is:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4ghz
Motherboard: Asus P5E-VM DO
RAM: 5GB (it's 2 different brands, but all are the same timing [5-5-5-15])
Video Card: XFX nVidia GeForce GT 240
Yes, I know, my cpu/motherboard are ancient tech now, but it's rock solid still, and I don't have enough to upgrade both, and I'll get the biggest boost out of a new graphics card.
My main stipulations are price (no more than $200 shipped), and I only want an nVidia card. I refuse to use an AMD card (Personal reasons. Every one I've ever used has died within a month).
Currently, I'm looking at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125443
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127699 (Same as above? Its base price is higher, not sure what the difference is)
and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121728 (Slightly cheaper, than the other two)
I've been out of the pc building scene for awhile, so I'm not entirely sure what to look for. (Last time I really did it was in like 2008-2009) and I know the model numbers mean different things than they used to (ie, I'm used to the old GeForce cards where an 8800 was better than, say, a 7800).
I primarily play WoW, Skyrim, and Battlefield 3/4.
