That's the truth. Local election people vote based on Party or Race or Sex or whose name comes first on the Ballot, because people dont give a shit and deep down are racist sexist and stupid.
"Gamer" is not a bad word. I identify as a gamer. When calling out those who persecute and harass, the word you're looking for is "asshole." @_DonAdams
When you see someone in a thread making the same canned responses over and over, click their name, click view forum posts, and see if they are a troll. Then don't feed them.

I think it's more about "look at these people not researching their candidates!"

Very much agreed. This just shows their stupidity and racism.

Reminds me of a story my teacher told us in Politics class. A popular incumbent was retiring so one of the candidates for the job changed his last name to match the incumbent. People just saw the last name and thought it was the incumbent not realizing he was retiring so they voted for him. He won. I don't remember who it was or where but people don't do a lot of research when it comes to voting.

I'm saying it's entirely probable that he would have lost had that electorate known he was white, given the razor thin margin he won by. Don't pretend there aren't a large number of black people out there who are racist. All you had to do was watch the Detroit Mayoral Elections to know how big a deal race was and has been. They voted a white guy in for the first time in 4 decades and race was all they talked about in the press.
It seems more realistic that they were remarking about him being white, because of the fact that he deliberately marketed himself as black but wasn't.

And the word "large" is subjective. Which is why I asked earlier "to what degree?" To what point is your "large" effective? Something empirical now. Go. Or were you simply interested in throwing out some vague and unmeasurable notion to solidify your pretty sounding theory?

well, if the current president can be used as an example, 96% of the african american voting block voted for him. And even if it wasn't that large of percentage for this guy, remember, he only won by 24 votes.

The same president who's a part of the political affiliation, that has constantly gotten a similarly high percentage of the black vote, when they've had white candidates?

How is this not criminal? Because he never actually said he was black? Seems like, fraud.

This is hilarious, especially considering the voters are predominantly black.

personally, I love it. If he did get elected because people thought he was (without doing their own research) then they got what they got.

An entire history of white guys being in office clearly isn't indicative of race voting.

A few black guys make it in, "look, they're voting based on race! How terrible!"

And on the internet where most cries of racism come from these days, where it's always "Open Season on Straight White Males", I'm inclined to agree.
You clearly do not understand. If he was not black he would have lost the black vote.
